You haven't touched the modding scene of Skyrim or Fallout4 have you? You seem at least 10 years outdated to be saying they don't support deep model customization. Especially considering the fact that you can now use Daz3D body models in Skyrim through the use of mods. New games should be able to deliver at least that much for us to be considering them over modded Skyrim or Fallout4. I haven't even mentioned the infinitely more content the games have by default over something like this, let alone the extra content from mods. And while they are triple A titles, a game like this will likely be abandoned without a studio or any funding, or it won't provide any real content. Unless it's one of those rare indie gems with a very dedicated solo indie dev.
Am I : )
I am playing Elder Scrolls, probably before You're born ; )
And if You read carefully will take a note, that I am writing solely about game engine. Not about any community added customization. In Bethesda works more tha 400 people. Here works only one.
Every ES game have its own Unofficial community patch, because publisher is too lazy to make fixes. Same case is with Fallout franchise.
And all this from company, which receive millions from game selling.
Would You be so kind, to tell me what exactly have Skyrim for customization? Without any mods.
Just one body which can go from thin to fat. Moreover, what it have above?
Simple layer of armor or clothes texture. With bugged AR starting from beginning and this is simply for the MC body
Should we talk about particles, shaders, mappings. lightings and so on. Do You have ever play Oblivion? Did You pay attention that the game from 2005 have better tree model than 2020 SKSE. Without any mods.
Bethesda was so lazy, that start third copy of the game 5 years later with 64 bit memory address allocation. Or too greedy to take one more release to sell.
Should I remind what happen with so called HD patch for F4 from this year?...
It is pretty unfair for anybody, to compare indie game from single dev to label fom big Game Publisher.
Particularly with Bethesda and their games. If there is no community support these games will not be half of what they are.
And lastly, it is much easier to criticize, than trying to take a look on positive work which have been done.
But it is people thing to make it opposite and try to catch positives ..
