Damn! It's been two weeks since I last posted?
Lots to say and I'm going to break this down into multiple posts to try to keep it intelligible!
Firstly, the temperatures have come down and rendering is proceeding at a better pace.
I've always tried to get builds out before the end of the month so people don't think I'm trying to squeeze them for another month's subscription.
It's touch and go as to whether I will get done in time to release the next build before the end of the month, so I quite understand if some of you want to suspend payments until the build is out.
More to follow in subsequent posts!

I've mentioned this before, but I got a really amazing message a year or so back from a guy in the Ukraine. He and his girlfriend had a pretty rough time because of the conflict there and he told me my silly "Dire Straits" gag with Mallory (Day 19) had really cheered them up and he sent me a hundred dollar gift card for Renderosity (which I put to good use)!
So while it's just a crazy game, it's nice to know that it really can make someone's life a little better.
Conversely, I've also heard from a couple of people who have been impacted by hurricanes Helena and Milton and wanted to let me know they were suspending their patronage because of the financial impact from that - not because they're unhappy with the game.
As most of you know, the writers and actors strikes hit me hard so I understand financial hardship.
Of course, each build goes public in a week or two anyway but if you're having a hard time let me know and I can always send you the "patrons only" link.
This is obviously open to abuse and if EVERYONE cancels their subscriptions and asks for a free download I might have a problem, but I'll leave it to your individual consciences!

It's a saying often attributed to Mark Twain but it was actually Lord Byron who came up with it first in his epic poetic re-telling of the story of Don Juan.
They're fictionalized to varying degrees, of course, but many of the storylines in the game come from real life and a significant number of the characters are based on people I've known. Some are composites but others are close enough that I'm sure people would recognize themselves. The story about Suzie, for example, was changed very little (her real-life counterpart really was the love of my life).
Anyway, I thought I'd relate something that happened last week that resulted in a slight rethink into the timing of certain events I already have planned in the game - you'll see what I'm talking about soon enough!
So about a week ago one of my neighbours went completely psycho. He'd been on medication after a minor surgery and obviously decided to self-medicate with booze and other drugs and it took me about three hours to calm him down. I hoped he'd be better after sleeping it off.
It was not to be. The next morning he threatened several people and told another neighbour he planned to beat me down, slap me like a girl, f--- me in the ass and then kill me. I told her I'd much prefer it if he killed me
before buggering me. I'm of the opinion it's probably better to give than receive.
To be honest, I think the guy is more of a danger to himself than anyone else but we wasted two days filing police reports and getting restraining orders to keep him away from several people that live in the vicinity - apparently we're
all against him!
