There are some weird takes going on in this thread. When did standing up to several of the most powerful beings in creation and saying "genocide is bad" become whiny?

Pushy? sure. Whiny? no.

Will we ever be able to get our ladies preggers? I'm not sure how your doing your Vampire Mythos. It seems "True" Vampires can be made via good ol fashion sex. While "Traditional" via Blood Ritual thing.

So since we are "Traditional" Vamps, can we get others pregnant? Or is that only for your "True" Vampires?

Just curious.

SeptCloud clarified a few times before that pregnancy is not planned.

When she keeps doing it over and over and over.

And "genocide is bad" is fine and all, until it puts your own people at major risk if you don't do it. If you had to pick between annihilating and antagonistic group or letting your own people potentially suffer the same fate, which would you pick? If you try and claim the moral high ground and say you wouldn't wipe them out without blinking, you'd be a shit leader.

But she isn't putting anyone at risk. The witches in question aren't the threat, the only role they play is one of them is being an idiot because of pride. Basically the demons and vampires are saying "Tell me about this or we'll kill you all." the witch leader is saying "That's too embarrassing to me, I'm not going to own up to it and they'll kill us anyway if I do." (And she's right about that, btw) And Ley is saying "Genocide as a response is WAY too extreme."

And people somehow think that's whining. And you are adding your two cents that if a person sticks to what they believe without backing down they're whining. Isn't that basically what you're saying?

Ok, you clearly haven't completely grasped the situation.

The "threat" comes from the other realms, especially the Dragon realm, and displaying weakness to anyone.

See, Terran is allied with the Demon realm and the Faerie realm (or whatever they are) against common enemies. The Dragons being chief among them. This isn't an alliance based on friendship (despite the 3 leaders being "friends") so much as an alliance based on necessity and survival against more powerful foes.

The Witches are basically a vassal state of the Demons and they've mounted a rebellion against their rulers. This rebellion is essentially bloodless at the moment because of how Demons work and the contract that Ba'el managed to get bound with. Now that he's free of that contract he aims to crush the rebellion and wants his allies to assist him. While Terran may not technically be bound to do so based on the terms of the alliance (we don't know exactly how it's written), not assisting him will be a slap in the face and weaken the alliance, possibly ruining it altogether.

Without the alliance, Terran would suddenly find themselves at war with the Dragon realm (who are apparently not terribly polite), and even possibly against their former allies or perhaps other realms. It's a show of weakness to not stand with your allies in a war, and it's also a show of weakness for the future ruler of the realm to hesitate to bring the full fury of their realm to bear on an enemy because his mate says so, AND for the future ruler to undermine the current ruler, his mate's father, because she doesn't want to get her hands dirty.

The Witches are not an actual "threat" to the Terran realm themselves. In a war they'd be defeated and wiped out and while they would inflict casualties, they would likely be minimal to moderate at best. They are, however, harboring / shielding what amounts to a terrorist that attempted regicide and an insurrection against Terran. They cannot let that stand and have cause for war as a result, just like the Demons do for the rebellion. And if Terran doesn't stand with the Demons, Ba'el may turn around and invade Terran himself, and THAT would result in some damage. Not to mention the Dragons who have the power to take out Terran on their own.

These realms are not going to be sitting around singing kumbaya together, being ruthless and worthwhile allies is the only thing that will keep them all together and safe from external threats.

And no, "sticking to your guns" isn't whining, but that's not what she's doing. She isn't voicing well thought out counterpoints or arguments, she's just constantly saying "but this is bad, because it's mean and I don't wanna do it!" over and over and not even considering the other side of the issue or offering anything even remotely resembling a plausible alternative.

I honestly think that you are missing the fact that the dev's intention isn't to bring Ley around to the way Vampires think, but Ley and the girls are slowly bringing Atlas slowly back towards humanity. You are jumping on the "Vampire daddy is always right" bandwagon in a big way, and Ley is not.

Edit: Back to humanity is probably the wrong way to put it. Probably "back to having a bit of compassion" is more accurate.

First of all, Atlas was a Spartan. He never had this so-called "human compassion". Second, whoever leads Terran cannot afford that luxury. Lucius isn't always right, he's a fucking idiot that let himself get enthralled, and not even by an amazingly beautiful woman either. But when it comes to balancing the responsibility of 7 billion lives against "being nice", it's a no-brainer. He's right about that.

We'll see how that goes in the next update, lol.

Site note: Atlas has already remembered his Spartan father having compassion and fond feelings.

Edit: Also, how twisted is your own head that you equate "Don't commit genocide" with "being nice". Holy shit.

Dude, Atlas is almost 3,000 years old... Leyala isn't likely to "bring" him anywhere. :ROFLMAO:

Yes, because static characters with no growth are incredibly common in all forms of stories. Happens all the times in the good ones, right?

Heh.

He's already changed. Several examples in the story so far. Primary one being that agreeing to not tell daddy is even an option.
