Just wanted to add this, food for thought I guess, Leyala is pretty naive to think that saving all if not half the witches was "right" considering the world they live in? I mean having half your race get genocided by the mistakes of a single arrogant witch is fucked up and extreme but on the other hand, not all of the witches were "good people" to begin with. Same goes for the vampires. Not justifying just saying.
If you think about it, how many of those witches have tricked, inflicted pain and killed people over the years or even destroyed the lives of people, families, friends, and more. If they are as old as they say there are, they're no better than the vampires who probably did the same. So either way, all the sides (demons, vampires and witches) are to an extent capable of being horrible people if given the circumstance.
So sure Leyala want's the most peaceful outcome but given a world like that, i doubt that's even possible.
Love is the death of duty, same with duty is the death of love they say
