What do the different color text in the walkthrough mean I just started have seen red green and orange, normally red isn't something you would associate with a good choice not so sure about orange.
They are labeled (generally) in the help screen per request of one of our patrons, but since someone else may ask here with how ren'py help screens are usually just the default one....
The MC has two 'main' routes.
Green is the good path.
Red is the dark path.
Orange means there is branching story plots where that choice will cause a big enough story change that it could affect relationships or determine if other characters are in the game at all...or both, but won't directly affect the ending path your on at the time.
We 'tried' to always set green to lead to scenes since we know thats something everyone wants--but due to the writer being a completely old school VN fan (and a choice loving replay bent psychopath lol) the walkthrough would have needed the entire rainbow to accomodate everything and it would have been overkill...so instead we tried to make those overly obvious by what s said with the choice your given.
If it makes things more simple, there is a kinetic mode under the walkthrough option that skips choices entirely when its enabled and that will always follow the Green choices, or the more good guy (friendly/morally correct) path if there isn't one...so you can be the devil incarnate while you play and always speed run through the other path at least...that was complicated to include with so many branches too so originally I intended a good and bad path option when you selected it...but we do want people to actually play the game at least once even if they're not big on replay value
Side note, the first orange choice (school hall) has one of the biggest impacts so far and completely changes the end of the chapter before this in a huge way, but I'm not going to spoil it any more than that. Cheers!
