the problem is that the dev just send a message and the community can or could think that the game is just on hold, and continue paying for the support on the big P just to find out that the game was long gone on the "i have better things to do" drawer just collecting digital dust.
for that reason i think that indeed the dev should have sort of weekly report about the game and or the state of the game. a few years ago i was activly supporting a dev who from one day to the next one just go silent, i kept paying the montly fee with the hope that was just very busy but after 4 months she or he just said: i now have a job and this is over...
right of the blue my 20 usd felt wasted on somebody who was pocketing money, dam i feel robbed that day
