It's tied to your IP address, X gb every Y hours. I forget the specifics. You can use a proxy/Tor and switch circuits until you get one that can download.
Thanks... I was using a vpn and it was blocking me. Disconnected, downloaded, all is well. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated :)

Yeah some idiot on tumblr even admitted they were apart of the discord. All I ever did was download stuff and go. People don't ever know how to keep stuff to their selves. That clown is really threatening to leave all because one of his precious items got leaked early boo hoo.

Maybe 2 people cared about the leak. No one else knew who dude was but clearly these are the people that can spread discord staff's cheeks. If there's an alternative instant message place to discord prolly should use it cause the people running discord and the general lack of a ballsack is quite sad.

We don't know if it was Toska or not, let's not start a witch hunt. Could be the same person from last time.

There is a alternative we've been working on but it will take time, enough time for more tries on Discord.
Since Discord team gives attention to any random ass person who reports us, we will have to take more precautions, more details soon.

Read that first line as we dont know Toska and it made sense. Alternative sounds interesting cause discord is confirmed cuck city.

There is keybase.io as another possible hosted solution, and riot.im as a self-hosted solution. Those are just two of many, however.

As a modder myself, I have to wonder what all the hype is. As soon as you release a mod, it's out there and pretty much beyond your control. Whether it's behind a paywall or not. And also, that's kind of the point. You make a mod and want people to use it presumably. Then again I don't do Patreon nonsense either.

On top of that, a lot of studios have rather draconian "mod ownership" rules. At least on paper you lose ownership as soon as you make it in some cases. (Granted that would never stand in actual court but who's going to test it?)

I won't get into the game or studio, but a relatively popular B game studio decided to make their own mod platform. Before mods were only on Steam. On Steam the rules for modding are pretty good for their games. You own what you make yourself and not anything derived from the game. Reasonable. The studio's new modding platform however is straight from hell. They own everything and if you put it up there, they can steal it without so much as a thanks.

Anyway, back on topic, I'd still prefer a non Discord solution myself. Something that won't collapse at the whim of a company who trips over itself to ban everything.

Using the public Matrix.org homeserver is an option for riot.im. They are a little less active when it comes to moderation.

The only issue with a self-hosted solution is that doing it right so as to ensure the anonymity of the maintainers (establishing isolation so that no legal backlash would succeed) requires some expertise. It's not that it would cost that much more materially, just a bit complicated and time consuming.

I know what services to use and precautions to take; but it's just not a very fast process (it'd take me, for instance, a good 8 hours of work and at least 48 hours of wait time).

Sad day I loved the discord it wasn't just for sharing cc I loved the sharing pics and just talking...
I still think the best option would be to no longer post patreon items on the discord. Just use it as a social space, referring (but not linking) back to here for downloads.

Say what you will about the Discord staff and policies -- and boy do I have some things to say about the discord staff and their fervent support for and defense of animated child pornography -- it's nice software with a lot of good features. It would be folly to abandon it entirely for a much lesser featured service just because we don't want to change the way we do things.

Yah, I understand that some people want to make a living off patreon supporters but this attitude whoever this person has toward Piracy is the kind of thing that results in DRM and always online requirements in games like SimCity 5 and the original plans for the Xbox One that often result in inconvenience for paying customers and encourage even more piracy.
