Yeah but the issue is that we're focused on leaks, and asking often for support (which means, Patreon support) is counter-productive to the means of the group. You're most welcome if you can understand it, nobody is asking you to leave!

You're rising so many red flags in such a small time, i'm impressed, but not surprised.
Anyway, i think you know too well that you can use loverslab and F95 to ask for support, and we know you won't stop using them for it, i said you can't use the discord as your marketing platform, and that's it, you we're abusing our hospitality and i was not gentle because i like to make myself clear, the discord isn't for that, at least the other creators there understand that.
I checked the chat we're you said there was an insult, i think you took a slang used in another conversation as directed to you, don't know why you paid mind to that since it was a answer to another person, i think you should pay more attention to the lines and lines and lines.. and lines... of praise and nice words people there gave to you, instead of making a tantrum about something you misunderstood.

He is, but advertising isn't allowed in the discord server. He was asking for support (donations) which is not at all what the server is to be used for.

So instead of trying to understand that, he decided to leave the server and will instead, post updates here and on LL.

Leaving the RFL topic aside
Without this type of sites where the material is shared, a large amount of patreon would not reach the amount of donations that would finally they obtain, because many of its sponsors would not even know their work.
The sponsors started downloading for free the products that they later sponsor, I think it's something to be considered, like as many creators also download leaks from others in places like this.
This is how this ecosystem works. I regret we can not understand what the real basis of the Internet is or that we forget it when it suits us to do so.

Shit you should've seen his reaction when I said " A 3d render in blender doesn't mean shit, show gameplay or knock it off" lol or something along those lines. He should have waited to have something more advanced the prototype before announcing it.

There is a lot of suspicion towards patreon
There are many things that end in nothing at the end, I guess that plays against REDFACTION what he promises sounds too good and that has also played against him

I do not believe many here object to someone making money off of content they create. Seems fair to me: you made something I want, I pay fair market value to purchase it and agree to any stipulations you have on what I can do with it. What people do object to is underhanded or illegal deals and manipulation tactics. Individuals seeking to profit in the marketplace of digital content creation for The Sims 4 all agree to abide by certain regulations. Those who fail to abide by those regulations that Electronic Arts imposes are not playing fairly with themselves, EA, or the gaming community in general and should be taken to task about those violations. Attempting to profit off of someone else's work(s) is just plain wrong if one has not purchased ownership rights to said work(s). Leveling baseless legal threats against another in a blatant attempt at manipulation is wrong. Both of those actions merit harsh criticism.

Another criticism I see leveled is failing to meet acceptable quality standards. Users expect to encounter a few bugs here and there when using any new program. Updates exist for a reason and nobody's code is perfect. When someone earns $10,000 per month creating content (one program in particular) that person's content should be held to a higher standard. One who earns $10,000 per month making a project should treat it like a full-time job, with all of the responsibilities that entails. In my job, if I were to release a project once per month and then spend the next day or two releasing fixes for the mistakes I made in the original project; I'd be out of work in short order. If I were to earn $120,000 per year doing a job, I had best be damned good at said job if I wanted to keep it. Continuously making silly mistakes and failing to mitigate said mistakes is a recipe for failure in business.

Capitalism is not a cute little fluffy bunny who will cuddle you and tell you that it's all going to work out. Capitalism is harsh and unforgiving. There is always someone else who is looking to build a better mousetrap and to remain profitable one should take it seriously and invest in their business' growth. Customer's aren't always right, or wise, or even competent but they hold the keys to the kingdom. A business that fails to meet expectations can expect criticism, sometimes nasty criticism if they repeatedly fail to meet expectations. If a business owner cannot handle criticism, they should not be a business owner.

Turbo trash talk, the HMB lynching etc,
It's pretty off putting if you're looking to make modding a full time job which is what Redfaction is looking to do.

Sure it might look like he's not performing from the outside but when you consider that he originally started with a sex player idea, that is probably a warped version of the original concept he had now after trying to work on the multiple requests,

Autonomy came well too early etc so it's understood that it is a painful backtrack now and again but it's pretty clear that the main issue against Turbo in most cases is his disinterest in rape and animal porn,

No matter what Redfaction's intentions are,
If he makes modding his full time job and makes a lot of money, he'll be demonised for it whether he pay walls it or not,

Redfaction had a ton of support. Even the admins in Discord are looking forward to this mod.
He started off by saying it won't be behind a paywall and we were okay with that. And then he started saying "please support me rebels" And that can be taken both ways. Does he mean support with money or just "Yeah you can do it" support.
And now it's changed to what WW had in the beginning. Where people who paid were testers and got it early. So yeah something was said. In no way was King mean, he honestly asked him nicely not to advertise anymore and Red acted like we took his toys away. (The beauty of the internet now is that everything can be screenshotted)
I am not against anyone making money, it's a hard world out there and if you find something that you enjoy that also pays your bills then go ahead. Go get your paycheck boo boo.
Hell, Turbo and Deaderpool make more than me and I went to school.
But anyways, this isn't what this thread is for and just know that if you put any mod behind a paywall it will be leaked. And I made it very clear that I was going to leak Red's mod if it did.

Just because you make a large income does not mean you shouldn't find another revenue stream. This is the difference between rich, wealthy and other. Rich people find new ways to make income, the wealthy just get comfortable. Other doesn't do either one.

As far as EA's terms, (not related to HMB) I could be reaching but If I made a fucking mesh in blender, I OWN that mesh, not EA. Because you can easily sell said model on CGTRADER, Second Life, etc. A mesh is a mesh. Just as easy as I put it in the sims, just as easy as I can put it elsewhere. I personally have made at least 50 pieces of clutter, 20 clothes, and 3 accessories. I don't have to oblige by EA's rules for something I made in Marvelous Designer, Blender or 3DS. This is just my personal thought, I am open to hearing everyone else opinion but as a creator, EA's microtransaction pumpin ass can suck my dick. They're literally patreon on steroids. Do any of you own a console lol.

Edit: I don't charge for cc because they're not good enough to even release for free lol. Which is why outside of the 5 outfits on my tumblr, everything is in unreleased purgatory. Well I have a ski mask on patreon but because it was the very first of all sims 4 ski mask lol but it was set for free release but I said fuck it too.

I think Turbo deserves a lot of it. I love Wicked Whims and I like the direction he has taken it over it's lifetime. It really has evolved into an interesting adult mod. When I read the changelog for each new version I usually smile at what he's added or changed, but then I remember that it's going to have some bugs and errors for a few hours, if not days. It's not my place to tell him how to run his business, but he needs to seriously consider some quality control people, or just one. I know this isn't a sustainable business model in the long-term, but it is his business currently. If he already has QC people, it's time to shit-can them and hire someone else. If he just had a person, or 2, look over his code before release and point out discrepancies he'd be better off for it. I understand he's crowd-sourcing testers through the Patreon program, but that is quite possibly the worst way to handle it. Patrons are customers, not lab-rats.

I support Redfaction and his attempts. I hope he makes a billion/month; I really do. I also hope that he takes his mod seriously when it gets that big. I hope for big things and I'll be looking to support him when/if his project works as well, or better than, WW.
