I played to the end of ep2 today. Not going to mention the font, that's been beaten to death and I know its being fixed.
I gotta say, the Naomi scene could have been great ... if I could actually make out any detail on her at all. She just looks like a blob against the car door. In fact all the night scenes are way way too dark. I would highly recommended re-rendering all of them with more light. Naomi looks awesome in the few scenes that aren't overly dark (phone pics), and her model is amazing. Makes it so frustrating that you cant see hardly anything when she's in the car seat.

your screen is probably not abile to maintain 200nits and that alone is very low number even for sdr. Rerendering everything would take a month so that is not a option sorry.

Only alternative I can offer to you is to edit them in photoshop and make them brighter but that may couse color bending problems.

wow, nice game, looks really good !!!, almost I lost the memory of her sister for being nice to the kids, and that was the best of all shown in the game, super well done the scene and hot, fk i want more of that sister, i dont liked that they dont talk to each other having seen that !!, also for me would be better to have more daughters time with their father than just dumping more women in his way even if they look hot. anyway I hope this has a big harem tag, I'm looking forward to that!!! at least for all the family, it would be a shame otherwise. I'm using a 65inch LG QNED90 TV. I've played hundreds of VNs, PC and PS5/XBox games in both SDR and HDR. TV has plenty of brightness (over 500 in SDR and 600 in HDR, sustained 100% white screen nits). Its dark details are very good. BG3 looks amazing, Cyberpunk, Last of Us, Horizon .. they all look great on the TV (play BG3 and Cyberpunk on PC, not PS5). TV has no issues with RE4 remake, a very dark game in places. Yes, its calibrated in game mode. I've only experienced this issue in a handful of VNs.

Its your project, and your choice to change it or not. I'll only speak for myself, but the overall darkness of the night scenes (and there are a lot of them) makes me just want to skip it. Its a shame, because there is a lot of good in this VN, and your character designs and scene framing are great.

You set up a clear scenario (retired boxer must get back in the ring to support his girls while starved of intimacy from having a wife in a coma). You should lean into feeding that. Those flashbacks aren't necessary, we can just be told things quickly. We don't need to relive them.

You did a flashback within a flashback. That's just bad writing and honestly unacceptable. At least if you were flashing back to key moments but no, whole ass nights of dialogue with a bunch of randos. Exposition should be weaved subtly into the present-day narrative, not made into homework we need to do before things start happening.

You don't have to be a masterchef to know what tastes bad but if it makes you feel better to attack the messenger to soothe your ego go right ahead. I suspect you know you're using them as a crutch since you actually already apologized for the flashbacks in your game itself. You're clearly too fragile to reflect on your poor choices but I'll leave a link here so that more growth-oriented individuals can avoid your mistakes.

Please keep your own vision of the game strong. The use of flashbacks might be uncommonly extensive here, but imo it doesn't really hurt the story & might even be something that makes your game unique. While looking at constructive feedback can help improve some aspects (like finding bugs and easy improvements, or noticing the effects of different hardware), YOU are the director & nobody else. You can and should never try to please everyone. Especially true for people that believe throwing insults and "force" you to completely rewrite the story is a good idea - that overinflated sense of entitlement will rarely yield any advice worth listening to.

But I get it you have opinion and that is completely fine, I can see how passionate you are and that is okay. But I invite you to understand It’s my way on how I do storytelling I don’t say It’s perfect and that everybody should like it, I know that such a thing is impossible. You understand that someone would belive that all of us here are sick degenerates, and do we give a fuck about that? Imo this game is my story, combined with my artwork and my animations provided for people to relive stress enjoy this fantasy and fap away to kingdom come until they cum. So imo you should do more faping if you like something I did for this game, if you don’t there is so many great games on f95zone that would fit your taste better. I am okay with criticism and I will surely tone down on flashbacks but please relax and enjoy some good fap.

It's not like I feel you owe me anything but if this forum is for anything, it's to give our impression of the games and I pointed out why I won't be playing this one again. Rather than just say it's trash or bad or that I won't play it, I pointed to a concrete creative choice of yours (liberal use of flashbacks) that I found frustrating. It's not like overuse of flashbacks is a neutral thing that is simply a matter of taste that I disagree with, it's a relatively common criticism in many works of fiction and one that they teach you to use judiciously when you are learning writing at anything above a high school level.

I guess that rather than address my initial comment to the dev as I did, I could have just made a general warning to readers that they were entering flashback hell. My experience was that whenever we were in a flashback, I was desperately clicking through the dialogue to return to the present. You're the creator, you're going to create what you want. I'm the reader so all I can do is react to what you're putting out.

So much time and passion I put in this project and if someone did this only thing I can do is shoot it in the head and deal with my fail as a game developer and for time wasted to learn how to make it. I am in between jobs, company I worked for is gone and I work on construction site now and my severance was in large part invested to make this game on which I work in my spare time. But hate on me and give wife and mother dude small fortune to fuck you over another seven years.
