The game isn't abandoned, it's complete. The full game is playable on the developers website which is just two post above yours.

The mega link was a cracked version that still required you to connect online, so it isn't necessary anymore.

You could try making a request in the Game Request forum. Or perhaps contact Pepe Le Pew directly since he's the one that created the crack to play it offline. Good thing too since the developer appears to have closed shop and shutdown his website.

It's a .7z, not a .72 file, which is just another compression format like .zip or .rar. You can open it with 7-Zip which is now one of the most popular compression programs around. Newer versions of WinZip and WinRar will also be able to open it.
