So far good a good game but things I found that might be problem are only 4 save slots, game glitching when loading a save, and no Mai introduction. Mai was the only one left out when walking around the ship to talk to everyone about themselves. I did experience a random event in space about some kind of cloud but it didn't happen the second time I load up to try to see a different outcome of either "staying put" or "pushing through". I stayed put didn't want the ship being damaged.

Thanks for the feedback. Noted on the more save slots, should be able to add more in no problem. What exactly was the glitch when loading a save? Yeah I realised too close to the time that Mia had no sprite for in the lab so she is missing. But will be added in for the 0.2 build. The random events are exactly that, random. So you aren't guaranteed to get the same random event from the same location. Eventually there are going to be hundreds of these little random events, so it's not advisable to try and save scum each outcome. They will have minimal impact on gameplay, but the ones relating to characters are there for even more character personality showcase.

to be honest dialogue in this game is important. If you're here for sex scene quantity, rather than build up / story telling, I'd hate to tell you're going to be disappointed I think!

Thanks for the info!
im not talking about skipping i mean the way its brought to the screen being sloooooowly typed out, you can click to make it instantly appear while its being typed out but i want instant from the start so i dont accidentally skip past stuff

ill try rightclicking and see if it works. did you not list that as an instruction or did i just skip past the instructions? because rightclicking to increase text speed isn't really standard. also an option in the settings so you can have your prefered readingspeed from the start would be nice

Ah sorry I misunderstood! I've increased the speed at which text appears for the 0.2 build. I'll see if I can do anything for instant text display.

I know this sounds weird but is there a walkthrough for this
The game includes a checklist with all the images you can obtain, additionally there is an objective menu that shows you where you need to travel when entering space :)

NergalsNest I followed you to hell and back in UD (literally) and yea i'm gonna do it again
Thank you! Guess this time you're following me to the edge of the galaxy and back, huh? xD

This demo was great, I love the art and the atmosphere in the game.
Are there any plans to make voice acting in the future?
If the voice actors are good and fit the art it would add a lot to the experience of the game in my opinion but I guess you can add the voice acting at any point in the future.
Another thing is that I would've liked to see is more save options..
I'm used to playing games that I can save as much as I want basically.

Also, I found a small bug that when you go through the wormhole the animation pops up but you don't pass through until you press again, also you can still move with the ship while the animation is still there.

Doesn't look like enough content yet, so I'll wait for more before I give it a try, also is anyone else getting trails in tainted space vibes?

Glad you enjoyed it! Voice acting is again one of those long terms goals if we get enough funding, for sure!

Also can we re watch the scene
Go to the TV in your quarters!

I've been waiting for this for a long time. I remember voting on Nergal's poll so long ago when he proposed one of three different games to start development. Clearly he had put the most thought into this one of the three from the blurbs given, and the sci-fi setting definitely set itself apart, so this choice definitely got my vote. When I saw Nergal had gotten Witchking on board my excitement knew no bounds. I'm glad to see the demo has shown a good balance for the characters so far. Nergal's games always did have good story progression.

I played in windowed mode on "high" quality and didn't have slow loads or crashing that others seem to be reporting.

I've seen some other comments having difficulty with where to go. I think that adding an outline like SS does to interactable objects would go a long way for that. A comment on the backgrounds as well, it looks like the ship backgrounds were drawn by Witchking, but the planets backgrounds were created by someone else? I'm wondering if the plan is to have Witchking do all the background in the end? I think having consistent art style background is almost as important as consistent art style characters, whomever it is that does the backgrounds. I think Withcking's much more clear and distinct background could also help with navigation in those places people seem to be getting lost.

I'd like to share my other thoughts in reply to NergalsNest comments.

I want to be able to give the players choice of who they romance, and since the Red Queen is on the main story line, I didn't want to force players into her scene. Though in the future I want to expand on the choices menu to indicate options that lead to romance / sex scenes etc.
I didn't even realize dialogue choices could prevent the player from hooking up with the Red Queen. She just asserted herself onto me (not that I minded mind you). Perhaps there could be a tracker to show the player the "points" they're building up with characters to know when we're on the right track to romancing our ladies?

Thanks! There isn't a plan to add in grindy game mechanics into this that interupt the flow of the story / character progression. It's much more focused on dialogue and character development. I used to be known for a really consistent update back when I first started, though at that time it was very damaging to my social life and eventually mental health. I'm hoping to get to a point where I can strike a good balance, where I'm providing monthly updates, but not at the expense of my mental well being and I hope people can understand that.

That said if I get to do this full time, monthly updates will be a guarantee!
I became somewhat worried when I saw the immensity of the star systems gathered in the demo. I cannot fathom what purpose they serve if the focus is supposed to be on the story. It's glaringly obvious that the space navigation is inspired by Mass Effect, but I think a larger map access so we can see where the star clusters and systems are in relation to each other would help, Mass Effect did have that option when going to the relays as I recall. If the focus were supposed to be on the story then I'd think that just selecting the next planet to go to, similar to Knight of the Old Republic, would serve that purpose best.

I also question the wisdom of putting in so much "empty" content at the beginning of development that does not yet serve a purpose. However, I can also see how dramatic the community would become if such systems were being introduced in the middle of development, "taking away" from development of the story and sex scenes. I just hope it sees positive use at some point.

I do hope you can be as consistent as you plan on being. If what you say is true it's certainly easy to see that overwork can burn you out, balance is incredibly important. I must admit that from my perspective your development has seemed spotty, but I look forward to you showing us all you can release this gem consistently.

This is actually a point of contention. I don't think I will be doing a "full" harem route. For me it detracts from character's personalities and realism I'm trying to convey of those personalities. I.E. some want you, and just you and don't want to share you (looking at you Catherine). Others also don't give a shit about monogamy, like Lillith and Mia. Others like Kittenna even would want it to take a secret. I also not sure I like how it would then work for a possible sequel in the future either.

However on the other hand I know it's "expected" of these type of games to have a harem ending. So I'm not 100% sure or settled on that yet. Regardless there will be definite groups / pairings of characters that will come together with you.
So long as I can bone all the ladies, and boning one doesn't stop me from boning another I'll be happy. I don't need to have them all in a big dogpile on top of me at the end of the game (though I definitely wouldn't say no to that either). I understand your concern about maintaining realism in personalities, and most women don't want to be with a guy that sleeps with every pair of tits he sees, but a porn game is all about fantasy, and certainly for myself (and I think I speak for many others here), when I play a porn game, I want to be able to sleep with everything with a nice pair of tits. Realistic girls are fantastic only until their realism gets in the way of that fantasy.

Hi! Thanks for your detailed post, it's really great to see such enthusiasm at this early stage of the project! I'm also glad to hear you weren't experience the lag that some of the other people mentioned.

Yeah I was thinking about doing something to really highlight the interactable objects. One person mentione about having a button you can press to make them glow or light up. Though having a more defined outlining will also likely help.

And yeah about the backgrounds, eventually I want to get them all consistent. Whether that be by Witchking or not is something I'm still debating. Obviously every piece of background artwork I ask him to do, is one piece of progression / sex scene artwork he isn't doing. And there are going to be A LOT of backgrounds required. The problem is though I really love his style, it's very clean, bright and polished which fits with the game so well. So I guess I may be on the look out for a background artist who can replicate his style!

I didn't even realize dialogue choices could prevent the player from hooking up with the Red Queen. She just asserted herself onto me (not that I minded mind you). Perhaps there could be a tracker to show the player the "points" they're building up with characters to know when we're on the right track to romancing our ladies?
Well I figured not every player would want someone forced upon them, so I added in the option to avoid it. Problem being I didn't add in a clear way to display which option that was! I'm going to have to make a custom choice menu I think to show icons when appropriate. There will be a similar point with each crew member too where you can continue with the "relationship" your building or forever abandon it. As for progression monitor, I've got something for the 0.2 demo in the phone that shows you the max progression level and the current progression level.

The reason behind the size of the current galactic map is because I wanted to make sure I had enough places to travel to, to cover all the locations that would feature in; the character's first level progression arcs, and the first main story segment. I agree at the moment it feels quite empty, but as time goes on it should start filling up nicely, with planets to visit and more importantly, more to do on those planets. There will also be NPCs you can start interacting with (some of the patreon designed ones and others). I will probably be taking one of the builds in the future and making it a "fill in the gaps" build, adding all this kind of stuff and spending time to make it seem more alive.

I do hope you can be as consistent as you plan on being. If what you say is true it's certainly easy to see that overwork can burn you out, balance is incredibly important. I must admit that from my perspective your development has seemed spotty, but I look forward to you showing us all you can release this gem consistently.
I definitely will be aiming to be consistent with timing of updates (one a month), though of course I'm not going to guarantee it until I get to work on this as a full time job. The reason behind that is simple. I work on this project when I can in my spare time. I burnt myself out neglecting, family and friends before using my free time to work only on projects. So now there must be more of a balance. Work can sometimes can get in the way a lot too. When you code for 8 hours a day the last thing you want to do is code for 5 more, right?

I'm finding better balance than before, and I'm in a much better place than I was before. For example if I had a hard coding day at work, I can sit in front of the TV while writing some dialogue for the game on my laptop. It makes me feel like I'm actually taking some time out of coding. I want to get back to how I was near the start of my adult game dev career when I was releasing at least one update a month, but I need to make sure I get that balance right. Again though, this is while I'm not full time on this project. Full time I will be guaranteeing a monthly build.

Anyway sorry bit of a ramble there.

So long as I can bone all the ladies, and boning one doesn't stop me from boning another I'll be happy. I don't need to have them all in a big dogpile on top of me at the end of the game (though I definitely wouldn't say no to that either). While I agree with the fantasy element to it, I disagree overall. For me, personally (and I guess the game will be appealing to people like me in that sense xD) I find it really immersion breaking when a character, acts out of character in order to fulfil one of these over the top scenes. The main premise of the game is to create believeable characters, and I want to be consistent with this. It's unfortunately why boning one woman might stop you being with another. There's going to be some elements to this, like Kittenna you can keep a secret, as well as Lillith. Your relationships offworld will also be a secret. But trying to tie down Catherine, while also being with Malaena ain't gonna work. They are both monogamous, and they both don't want to share you. If it comes to it the character will approach you and say they aren't happy with it and your character can have options on how to deal with it.

I know that isn't going to be to everyone's liking, but it's the way I want to do this.

Though that said there will of course be a gallery unlock and stuff like that, so if you don't want to play through the game multiple times to see the scenes, you don't have to.

Anyway thanks for your points, like I said before it's really great seeing such enthusiasm at this early level!
