WTF? Ok. There is bugs with the new update's coding - the new girl's collar is tagged incorrectly in Ren'Py but mistakes like that happen. But WHY THE FUCK did this game suddenly turn into a kinetic novel? Why is my MC suddenly declining every offer of sex from every girl he enslaved and I have NO control over it? Why the hell should I play a porn game where the MC says "I'm not in the mood" every time a girl offers him sex? Did this game suddenly turn into "The Star Cove Incident" celibacy simulator? Is this the author's attempt to help us pass NNN? Srsly WTF?
I'd wonder if the author has some mental issue with repeating a scene more than once - but his other game "Jinkage Rising" let's you repeat the scenes as many times as you want. So why not here?

This was kinda always a visual novel my dude, I never claimed otherwise, it also has a VN tag I didn't upload this here cause I kinda thought that it wasn't something the people on this site would like since it's different from my other stuff.

His complaint isnt visual novel, vns in renpy are extremely popular here.

His complaint is that it feels kinetic:
  • Kinetic Novel [Used when a a visual novel style game presents the player with no choices.]
Basically, he felt there wasn't enough choices in the more recent updates. Haven't checked it out though, so Idk whether it's the case.

Yeah as KingWeWuz pointed out - it being a VN is not an issue. Jikage Rising is a VN as well. But Jikage Rising is more of a sandbox and offers repeatable scenes. Star Cove does not. I can understand that you're going for more of a linear story than Jikage Rising with this one and I read your apology at the end about burn out and only one new h-scene in the update - and hey I'm completely fine with that.

What I'm deeply unhappy about is the fact that there are several times where the girls offer sex to the MC and there's no option to accept it. The MC suddenly - for no explicable reason - stops being a character we can control and play as "nice" or "moody" or "jerk" and are forced into the "jerk" route - harshly telling off every single girl you've enslaved who're (happily) offering you sex.
If you feel you had no choice because you didn't have any new scenes to offer - why not reuse the art you already have and just change the writing of the scenes? This time sex with Aya wouldn't be her first time and you could describe her being more into it and enjoying serving you. You could repeat Jaina's breakfast BJ scene only now you could spice it up with Aya - sitting on the other side of the table and off-screen (therefore not requiring new art) adding some sexy talk to it to make it feel new and interesting. So many interesting possibilities that you ignore and instead just skip through the days with dry stuff like "you eat dinner and go to bed." or "you tell Aya you're not in the mood and go take a shower." Why?

Every single option to have more sex is skipped and the only real choices are with the new threesome scene - the only h-scene added in this update. It feels like you've wasted perfectly good opportunities and railroaded the MC on the "jerk" path robbing the player of a feeling of choice - just because you didn't want to reuse artwork you already have. And as someone who loves this game - it's sad to see.

I understand that you're unhappy that there is a lack of repeated scenes and control over the character.

The "jerk" route is pretty much the cumulative result of finding all of the women, corrupting them, banging them and having them lose sight of things that were important in their lives. The "jerk response" is a result of using the "gift", basically there were hints that using it changes the player.

Where we are at now in the story is partially consequences of past actions, pretty much "the voice" showing that "you don't get to destroy lives and still pretend to be a nice guy".

I actually see both sides of the 'issue' here. There is a lack of player agency, the term used to describe the player's ability to influence things, which is Tyr's argument, but this lack of agency is the result of consequences. I have to agree with Speed here, while there is less player agency, it is for plot reasons and giving the player that agency would not make sense in this case.

I think the author has 2 routes planned but at the moment there is very little divergence because the game is currently a work in progress.

Although there are definitely a lot of mysterious choices that I am unsure of, like how nice you decide to be to your familiar.

I for one like that he decided to make more of a visual novel style game, and I really like the art this time around. If you want to replay scenes you make a save there, I do that regularly for the visual novels I really like.

I wonder if there will be choices for her?
Using the mist on her or doing it in the normal way

I hope she won't turn into a simple human with one accessory on the head representing her tails or something like that

She would look cool if she was some kind of anthro/furry
