Pretty good so far. I like both the siblings and the council members. The story is interesting as well. A few things I noticed.

Kate's offer seemed really bad to me, so I just had to reject her. It feels out of character for Sarah to escape alone and abandon everyone. Why would she ever do that? She knows that her brother needs support and can't handle his duties yet. Also, one would think that a castle full of guards is still safer than traveling to some random place with a friend that obviously changed a lot.

(Also Kate seems like a bad friend, if she cared so much, she could just stay and protect Sarah herself :< )

Having slept with Kate and being all innocent at first, it feels odd that she would suck dick at the first opportunity unless you stop her. She calls herself a romantic and starts with a bj? Eh...Where did she even learn these things?

I haven't tried other choices yet, I think I'll just continue my path with new updates for now.

many options for the development of the plot, nice drawing, but some in different styles. It would be hard to make a game like this.

Hmmm After going the Orc route, I seem to be stuck in Vaelen and that's as far how the story goes. This Warrior path seems to be the most interesting. Please do keep it up and I look forward to the next update

This is easily one of the most promising titles I have ever had the pleasure to play. The art is really good. The quality of the writing is the star of the show. The excellent character building and world building leads to engaging sex scenes and an immersive narrative.

The fact that the story is shaped by choices in the face of adversity as well as its consequences is resonant with it's theme of survival and really makes the branching narrative work. Especially because those paths allow us to see the setting from different viewpoints with the way things branch out and intertwine. I audibly gasped at a certain moment and marveled at how it made the story feel like its a living interconnected world.

(On a personal note, as a gay man myself, I really love the writing of the queer characters. They are written with a lot of humanity here, where in other stories they might just be excessively fetishized without being given any substantial characterization at all. I also love the way they are placed in the world, as just everyday people you can find anywhere, living out their own lives and dreams, in a world that have differing attitudes towards them. All of it is handled very well, being grounded, believable, and realistic, adding a lot of substance to the story and it's world, at least for me. I hope to see them continue to develop in the future in their respective routes as the story continues.)

If I knew how to give a review, I'd have probably post this as one. But since I dont, just know that I'd give this game at least a 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Below are my thoughts about some things that I wish to see more in the story:

First is for there to be more opportunities for the main character to grow and develop the means to survive new and even greater challenges. The narrative is at the highest peak for me when our choices allows the protagonist to conquer adversity by bettering herself and making the most of the opportunities, connections, and resources around her. These are the moments when us the player, engage with the characters, plot, and the world. More of this please! I love the runaway routes like Mage and Mercenary routes for this reason. I would love to for there to be similar opportunities on the other routes as well.

Have us interact with all the characters in the Princess route, not just Thomas, but both Marion and Vargas, and also the other members of the council. (I'm sure some of your audience would love to see Princess Sarah get together with Lady Carolyn ;) and I'm partial to the DILF general myself lol, and letting us use our influence over Thomas to pair him with someone would also be really cool, a king needs a consort after all!) Let the Princess as co-ruler and member of the council work with it's members, getting to know them, and perhaps even learn things from them alongside the growing King Thomas. Like learning Military and Martial arts from the general and Varga, Intelligence and Subterfuge from the spymaster, Financial and Mercantile savvy from the Mistress of Coin, Noble politics and Commoner concerns from Marion and Varga respectively, etc. I feel that any opportunity to enrich this beautifully crafted setting, as well as developing Sarah and the other characters by proxy should be taken!

Second, if possible, I would like more choices that might not alter the overall plot but allow us to slightly alter the course of events. This is because there are moments where I feel the story pigeonholded me into doing certain things that I don't find to be wise, which doesn't feel good in a story about survival that rewards you for making good choices in spite of challenging circumstances. This doesn't need to change the things needed to happen or branch out into another plotline, but please don't make the player feel forced into making foolish decisions or miss out on potential opportunities.

In relation to this, below are just my thoughts on how the story could go. I have to preface this though, dont feel pressured to follow it through okay. The writer of this game should write what they want. This is just me having fun giving my thoughts feedback ;)

Thirdly, pregnancy content. This is more of a personal request. I don't feel like every story needs to have it, even though for me impregnation is the big thing that makes straight porn appealing, I just feel like the story has alluded to it enough that I think it would be a good addition to the narrative. Not just because it would be hot additional content, but also because it could be like a "Hard Mode" optional path for the story if the choice of pregnancy is left to the player. Taking the path could lead to complications it brings adding additional challenges for the player and the characters to adjust to. Having to worry about not only Sarah's survival but also another would be really cool!

Here are my imagination on how it could happen in certain routes. I don't expect these to happen, these are just the result of me having fun with my fantasies of the story so far :

Phew, this took longer to write than I thought! Anyway, I hope to see this game continue to develop! I look forward to more updates in the future!

Wow, I just wanted to say thank you for your elaborative response! It's great to hear that you liked what's currently available, but even greater that you took the time to post such a detailed message. When I publicly posted the very first version of the game I was excited enough to see people downloading it, to see that it's managed to strike such a cord with people is really inspiring to me, so thank you for that.

I promise that I read your entire comment and you brought up a lot of interesting points.

My story is highly-detailed when it comes to my plans for the main-storylines, but I find myself constantly exploring and investigating the possibility for interesting side-branches. Just reading your post sparks ideas for all sorts of avenues that I would love to explore.

I wish I could respond with even more detail about some of the points you raised, but I fear I couldn't do so without spoiling parts where I agree, or parts where I disagree. But I did want to take the time to thank you for writing this, it's given me a lot to think about.

Anytime! I'm glad if my ramblings can inspire an admirable creator like yourself! I'll be keeping a watchful eye on this game. On the next update, I'll be sure to give my thoughts on it as well!

Great game. I enjoyed playing it. Btw is there any lesbian option for the princess route in the future? It's just a sausage fest atm.

Edit : I've just checked the itch dot io comment section. The dev said that there would be two lesbian options for the princess route.

Glad to hear you liked it!

And yeah, this is correct. Right now there isn't any lesbian-content on that route, but it's definitely being worked on, with 2-routes already concrete and more still planned.

Just wanted to ask. I picked a bad option to see what happened by fully submitting to captain. I found the scenes that followed were just a black screen no art and wanted to know if that is intentional or if art will be added there later?

Yeah, for now that is a black-screen with no art because the art for that scene will follow at a later update. I can't give exact estimates for that either, because right now most efforts are aimed towards expanding the content in the game (building out existing story paths, art, etc), but all those black screens are supposed to be filled in eventually when the game finishes.

A gem of a game, truly. This one seems to absolutely encapsulate what this genre is capable of and I can only imagine how much better it will get with time, although admittedly it seems like it will require a tonne of work simply because of how much there is to it. It appears to be in the early stages of development and yet has so many plotlines to offer.

I definitely adore how we have the characters from different plotlines appear in the different branches of the character and why I feel bad for some of the events that occur on the mage's path (as described by NiftyLit) I think that what takes place there in a way make the story feel somewhat more bleak but also real at the same time.

I'm personally thrilled just about every route there was in the game, they were all a treat so far. I went with the princess-sarah route first as I genuinely wanted to see Sarah doing well, but then couldn't stop myself from exploring some other possibilities and tried going for what you might call the slave-sarah route I suppose? It cut off before anything started happening there but it seemed quite promising as well. The one I went with last was taking Kate up on her offer since it seemed quite out of character for Sarah to do that. I think in terms of writing that seemed like the only possible complaint I could have.

It would be really nice having a wiki or some guide at some point because I honestly almost missed the mage route by accident and only reading this thread allowed me to realize that something was missing or rather that I was missing out on some parts of the game.

I have to congratulate the author for giving life to so many different characters, all of them full of life and likable. It genuinely feels hard to abandon any of them. Amazing writing coupled with great artwork.

Keep up the good work, it's definitely one of the new games to look out for on the website.

Wow, thanks a lot for your comment, high praise indeed!

You're absolutely right that the scope of the story is significant, but the upside is that I've already plotted out most of the major story paths, so I have a (reasonable) estimate of what I need to write to get to the endpoint. Additionally, by prioritizing main-storylines, I'm also able to (hopefully) keep pushing forward different stories at a satisfying pace.

As for the accessibility of certain routes, it's an active issue that I continue to think about. I haven't found an entirely satisfying solution yet, but I agree that players should have a reasonable understanding of what content is in the game, because it's sad to see when players are not aware of a chunk of content.

One possible solution I'm considering is adding in a gallery-system that simultaneously functions as a list of all the categories of the paths, so players can see that certain paths are in the game, without necessarily seeing the content before playing it. But like I said, this is still something I'm considering.

Another VN trick that might be of use would be to grey out options that have already been picked before, to entice people to click on them and see what they do once they've completed the game and are on a second or third playthrough. It's also something easy to turn on or off in the options.

A gallery can be good (and in fact recommended), but unless you want to add spoiler hints to locked images that still won't tell people how to actually get them, so that might not be an ideal solution.
