Hello everyone,

It's time to talk about the next update. This one is going to be slightly different than the previous ones. It's going to focus on some much needed revisions of the already existing content. This is something we've been discussing with the writer for quite some time and decided it's better to do it sooner rather than later. I'll let him explain things in more detail.

Hi,
I've been working with Carbon for a few months now (3 releases - 1 main story update, 2 side story updates) and over this time I realised we're going to have to change a few things to make the development slightly easier and potentially also faster. I always wanted to do somewhat of a rewrite of the initial episodes, simply because of how they sound in some places, but I never wanted to delay the development of future episodes because of that.

However, it proved to be impossible to work on new episodes while at the same time work on rewriting the initial ones. Why? Because the new episodes would depend on choices that would have been made in previous episodes but currently are not there yet. Also, some highly requested features, like replay gallery, are impossible in the current code setup and require a complete change in the organisation of scenes to make it work.

With all this, it became clear that spending one update on remaking the previous episodes and adding some new things would be the best choice of action. The plan is to add some new images to already existing scenes, replace some images with new ones and heavily change the dialogue.
This way it'll be easier to manage some routes down the line and focus on more interesting content. I'm sure there'll be more details as future progress reports get published, but if you're going to be interested in anything specific, you can always ask on Discord.

Thank you for your support and understanding

As we wrap up the year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect and celebrate. We've spent a little over a year together, and now we’ve officially completed a full year. I’m truly grateful for all the support, feedback, and patience you’ve shown throughout this journey.

Let’s quickly dive into the game’s progress. This week, there haven’t been any major developments as I didn’t spend much time at my computer due to the holidays and other reasons. However, I managed to adjust a few renders of Ariana that were bothering me. In the coming week, I’ll be working on a few new renders and animations for the first episode. Additionally, I’ll continue focusing on converting some static renders into animations, something I mentioned previously. I believe this will breathe more life into the game and enhance the experience.

That’s it for this week. Finally, I want to wish you all a Happy New Year! May your year be filled with joy, success, and countless hours of fantastic gaming.

Thank you for being such a great community. See you next year!
