You talk to Liz in her flat and then go back to your living room. You must have progressed to the end of Liz quests to get the Xmas events.
You can also start a new game and choose "Start from last update".

The green old-school computer text objectives are still just flavor at this point, you can ignore them. As for the other one, well it says right there, "progress through character storylines" - your next main objective is gated behind progress in one or more characters' individual stories, so look at each of their objectives and see what you can do. (You may need to build up their affection for you through daily repeatable interactions and the "bond" minigame (found in the 'relationship' section of each applicable girl's dialogue menu) before the actual next objective will show up, btw.)
She is so hot, I don't care about any other character in this game!
