I was very excited for the next one too, but it does seem like he decided to shelve it and not move forward. I guess there's always a chance he changes his mind.

I mean, I guess you have no patent on the game title "The Wish" or anything but your game was released (at least here in F95ZONE, from what I can tell) way before that one came out, right?
So, you making the sequel called "The Wish 2" would be the expected outcome.
Is this a case of you trying to avoid people potentially getting the two games confused?
If so, would it help if maybe you just gave it a subtitle, like for example: "The Wish 2: XYZ"?
Of course, the way I see it, if anyone should do anything to help differentiate the two series apart it still should be the developer of the other game, since they basically came in after this one.
But anyways, I can see why you'd be pissed off.

The very, very alpha (and probably extremely buggy) version of The Wish 2 is available to download and test at your peril (no sexy times so don't get too excited). Link available at our SubscribeStar page. It should be a public post but SubscribeStar is being weird and not letting me create those, so you might have to subscribe. There's a free tier available so it won't cost anything.

I'm not sure what the deal is for the next steps. Obviously this is not the thread for The Wish 2 now there is an actual "game" (using the term very loosely), but a release thread seems premature. Should I create a development thread even if I don't end up updating it very much? I'm away on a business trip next week so it's not happening before I get back. I wonder what people think I should do to generate interest in the game but not too much expectation. Thoughts?

Well I have a tab open to the SS page as a reminder to play the new one, so I'd say it needs it own thread of some sort lol. If I wasn't watching this thread mostly out of nostalgia, I'd have no idea that a new one had been released. So if you don't want a full thread that'll pop up in the Latest Updates and reach new people yet, then a development thread sounds like the only option. Maybe cross-post SS dev logs you put in the Dev Thread on here as well with a link to the Dev Thread. That way it won't just be a single post here that'll get buried that says "Here's the link to the Dev Thread."

If it carries on from the first it would go in this thread, I mean beta and alphas release all the time here.
If it a new game, new characters, new universe etc., then it would get its own thread.
If you aren't comfortable with more of the public knowing it's out you could always do a development thread, but those threads do not seem to get many eyeballs. If you want more people to see it, and maybe can get more support, more eyes on it, you could always report it and get this thread updated (if it is indeed carrying over from 1) or another thread made for it.

Not for The Wish you can't. The Wish is no longer maintained and any links to the game are purely 3rd party.
Stuck at Sept 3rd morning... found everything apart from password hack update and bedroom key... any ideas anyone
