Also bad. Erotically unappealing art: Big-eyed anime faces that look like they were drawn by an Otaku obsessed 12 year old girl. Also bad Das3d models with no life in their poses + no subtlety in their facial expressions.

Honorable mention: Games based on repetition and grind to pad the playtime practically aren't worth mentioning, since there are just so many of them too.

I feel like this might be a bit broad of a thing to gripe about. It's basically an Isekai without the supernatural elements. This particular approach might be a bit lazy. But it's pretty much Creative Writing 101 that the opening act should have some sort of "inciting incident" which explains why the MC's meeting all these new faces and why all this interesting shit is suddenly starting to happen.
The lazy approach is fine as long as it kicks off something interesting.

Just my point of view, but games using a real life set-up and trying to stick close to it.

One of the biggest advantages games have over "mainstream" porn is that they can feature unrealistic situations that we won't ever be able to experience in our lifes.

I don't care about Billy going to university, fucking every girl he can. Billy could be fighting Monster Girls in another universe, discovering aliens in a space adventure, revealing cultists in a twisted dimension.

But instead Billy decided to fuck his sister in her room, fuck his teacher in his classroom and peep at his classmates in the swimming club showers.

Was ridiculous, is all. "You can't not like that! It's invalid" on a "things you are tired of seeing" post. There are plenty of scenarios to create far beyond "young man starts new life, gets harem." The fact that it's so common is not a point for it being invalid. Quite the opposite.

It's the basic self insert for devs and how they imagine the people who pay for their games:

• A wimpy kid, so he goes to the gym a few times to get strength+1 to beat up the bully
• Antisocial kid, so he reads a book and watches a few videos to gather "charisma"
• No marketable skills or job, so he does a vague optional job on the computer that gives him money
• Never went outside, so he hits on the female family members, with the father conveniently removed
• Always took the path of least resistance, so there is no conflict or challenge in the game

I don't play games with that premise anymore because I find them lazy and boring.

That's also part of why they're so eye-rolling for me. Big self-insert for dev and players alike, no doubt, and I just can't relate. Though I'd probably grow tired of them if I did, too.

It is a valid point that "hey, that'$ where the market i$" and many of the highest earners are likely to have that premise. But also the vast majority of failures as it's hard to stand out from the pack of 10,000 other titles with the same basic premise.

Seeing middle aged men being paired with 18/"18" year old girls (Melody, Hillside, Avalon, Lexi, for example), especially since a lot of these girls tend to act like they're closer to 13 years old. Wanting to fuck 'em? Sure I can see that. Wanting to spend the rest of their lives together, having kids and whatnot? Nah, can't buy it.

Another thing I've been noticing lately is games will stop the story or a conversation in its' tracks to shoehorn in a reference to another game for no good reason (I swear if I see that singer chick from Leap of Faith in one more game that isn't Leap of Faith, I'm going to lose my fucking mind. Fun game, fun character, don't need to see her in 15 different games). I mean it's cool that you are all friends and all, but keep it subtle/in the background, please. Ideally, leave your shoutouts to the credits/Patron-thank you section of your game.

I guess my main thing here is that a complaint worth vocalizing should be something that results in a better game if heeded.
My personal gripe that I've posted in this thread was about games that have one choice which fundamentally alters how the game progresses. That makes the game suck for everyone for a myriad of logistical reasons.
Another common complaint is the bizarre proportions a lot of games have with their characters. You mentioned this one yourself so I doubt it needs elaboration.

It's just a hand-wavy way of saying "you're here now. Go do things." I'll agree that it's lazy. I just question how it's your #1 gripe. Lol.

It is annoying however when the game doesn't let you pick what clothes you want the LI to wear, and if the article of clothing is never worn again for the rest of the story.

If they give players the option to choose a set of clothing then they would have to render every scene multiple times (depending on the amount of options) from that point onwards. Which would be an explosion of development time with very little pay-off.

Yes, it's a very clever way of bypassing that restriction and usually they let people change the names to whatever or provide some patch to change the text.

I think letting players change the relations is a really cool feature too because some people might have other things in mind and it doesn't really break the game tbh.

It is something, but even so incest games are losing their meaning by that censorship. Mostly because of the developer is afraid to directly define the relationship between characters later in the game. Yes, you can change how they address each other, but they will still act as if they are not related at all.
