Either the one who edited the OP was high or forgot to add more information of what has changed because I am way to confused now. Last version was 17.6 and now it's just season 2 but no versioning. Which is which?

season 2 if bigger by ~300 MBs so my guess is that incls .x updates.

Me too.
I've only ever played SE edition but I've seen that going from that to regular version can cause problems with save files.

Note: this Season 2 doesn't appear to be the SE version....my DL is not yet complete but it looks like this is the standard version....just so you folks know what's what. I'd rather not update the mod until SE as these multiple minor updates are killing vital time. We'll see. Regards.

Don't know if it's worth it....what's the change log or what new assets have you noticed? You know as soon as I do another hybrid the full SE will drop 10 minutes later

Dang...that means there's likely new SE assets so (assumed v18) hybrid may not have much use, but I don't honestly know. Let's dig around a bit a see if we can find out. If no new SE assets were created for this update then a new hybrid would essentially be exactly the same as S2SE and worth doing on my end.
Edit. Never mind. E18 definitely has new assets:

There's only one way for me to hybrid at this point (since I don't distribute assets). A user would have to have v17.4SE installed somewhere, install v18 (obviously to a new directory), then copy the v17.4SE assets over to the v18 directory manually. Many users can handle this type of install but there's a ton of folks that this type of install will blow their minds and inundate me with the same question over and over about how they can't get it to work (since they lack basic PC skillsets). I'm not putting them down, it's just the reality of the situation. I'm not a fan of becoming a MS technical assistance hotline so we might need to work together on this one.
Easiest for the end user: Via compressed versions, supply the nonSE v18 version with the bonus image folders (assets) from v17.4SE. My mod will have the "special" directory modded scripts and all other modded scripts needed.
Easiest for us suppliers: The user has the responsibility to DL and install v17.4SE, then DL and install nonSE v18. Copy over the needed assets from v17.4SE to v18, then install a hybrid mod.
That's the only two ways I see it happening at the moment....but will admit I'm a tad hungover.
