You all are quite right, of course: as I said initially, I was playing "Thirsty For My Guest" as though I wasn't thirsty for the guest (swimming against the current). I didn't waltz into the game expecting or intending to be able to do that. The reason I had a concern was that once I started the game I seemed ABLE to play that way and thought it might be fun to give it a try. Once I went down that road (and it did
seem like it was a legitimate road for a while at least), all of a sudden the road ended and my playthrough went off a cliff. All I was asking for was a proverbial "Road Closed" sign earlier on, or the completion of the road. And yes, I am fully aware the dev is under no obligation to do anything at all for me or anyone like me. No worries!
Walter Victor , I'll keep an eye out for future updates because, as I mentioned, this was just one playthrough I was doing - there will be content for me, just perhaps not anymore for this particular playthrough
Kukothemadhatter I am really grateful you read and considered everything I said. I really only hoped for the dev to fully read it through, since I figured ardent Jenna defenders would roast me over a slow fire because they misunderstood my point. Thank You! As to what you were saying about Jenna loving the MC, I totally agree! I thought it would have been really cool to continue to reject her, only to have her get more and more persistent. Especially when there wasn't an arbitrary game over after each of my rude/dismissive decisions! And who knows, maybe something she did could have thawed my MC's cold heart and won him over. But that was all only because I thought it was an actual way to play. I hope the dev takes the time to understand what I was saying the same as you did!
riktor No, as I tried to make clear in my post, it wasn't that I went into the game thinking "The only way to play this is not go after the titular love interest! Wait, I can't not do that? WTF, this game sucks!" What happened was, I saw all the rude/ignore options, took them, and was (mis)led into thinking it was an actual legitimate playthrough. An alt-path through the game. If you try it (don't), you will see that it actually seems like a story pattern... right up until it abruptly isn't. THAT is the part I was affected by, and what I wanted to mention. I fully understand I wasn't doing things the way I was supposed to! It just seemed like I was able to play that way, and would have preferred to know I couldn't sooner or been allowed to continue.
ThunderRob You're a funny guy! I see you all over the place. And your point about multiple playthroughs is exactly why I'll keep following the game - it's what I do too! Gotta Catch 'Em All and all that, right? It's interesting that you say Lauren is the one nobody cares about, though, because on this particular playthrough of "Reject Jenna" I was honestly taken by surprise by Lauren. I was actually coldly refusing everyone, considering the MC's expressed desire for privacy, but Lauren... idk, I liked the idea of going full traitor on Jenna and in the midst of that mindset actually found I liked Lauren's personality on top of that. I really thought I had an actual surprising story unfolding in this playthrough, where through resenting Jenna the MC met someone he actually really liked - Jenna's nemesis. Plus I'm getting yandere vibes from Lauren, and I always find yandere characters entertaining. But no worries - I was already doing my own thing with the rude/ignore options, so I guess I can sit in the Lauren corner by myself too!
Either way, thanks for reading what I said!
