Important news on the next game release!
Hello everyone!
The time has come to tell you in detail what we are working on now, as well as to announce approximate dates for the release of the new game.
So, starting in mid-June, we experimented with different engines, and in the end, we chose

for our game. It is a relatively new, but very promising game engine that is developing very quickly. We liked it for a number of very important technical and functional reasons, and we devoted much time to studying it.
From July to mid-October, we were studying this engine and transferring the main game Threads of Destiny to it.
But we faced a number of difficulties that will take some time to be solved:
- First, the mechanics we want to use in the main game. Some of the features we need for the main game will only appear in Godot with the release of version 4.0, which is already in testing and available in the Alpha version, but has a number of technical issues that will be fixed soon.
- Secondly, the storytelling and plot. The fact that we could not add an appropriate combat system in the early stages of game development on the RPGMaker engine adjusted the main plot, spoiling the original idea of the narrative.
- Thirdly, the disclosure of the main characters of the game. The characters have rich stories that cannot be fully revealed in the main game.
That is why, and for a number of other reasons, the main game Threads of Destiny is currently being reconsidered and changed.
We promised you to release Taleona’s quest on a new engine first, but in the process, while dealing with Godot, we concluded that we’d better focus on the main characters and the main plot instead.
We decided to completely change our approach to game development:
to divide the plot into several parts and bring the backstories of some characters into separate games.
This will benefit the players, who will be able to immerse into the world of the game and will benefit the plot. Not to mention us, as this approach will allow us to accumulate enough experience of working in Godot. We want to improve our skills in relatively short games, which will take you 5-8 hours to play and will be released more often, so as not to make the same mistakes that we had before. This approach will allow us to make good games right away, and not to redo them over and over again, trying to fix mistakes made at the initial stages of a very long development.
As a result, each new game will be a platform for running and testing new mechanics and functions that we want to have in the main Threads of Destiny game. And they will become only better over time.
So, approximately within the next
two to three months from January 2022 to February 2022, we will release a new game that will be dedicated to Elli. The game is being developed using both 2D and 3D graphics and will be released first test version on all supported platforms simultaneously.
We will not give you any hints regarding this game, except that it will be completely different from the main game Threads of Destiny. But we hope you will enjoy it ...
The work on the main game Threads of Destiny will take place as well:
- reconsideration;
- completion of the script, concept;
- work on different functions that will be needed;
- work on the content and some other stuff.
But at the same time, we will temporarily focus our efforts on the game about Elli.
In addition to it, two more short games are planned to be released afterward: one after another.
- As a result, the first game will tell a story about Elli. Believe it or not, there is plenty of things to tell about. :-D After all, she is a completely unrevealed character in the main game.
- The second game will tell Umi’s (Agnemi’s) story - before the events of the main game. And it will be completely different from what we did before.
- Well, the third story will be devoted to the war that took place a thousand years before the events of the main game: the reasons for this war, as well as some of its participants, as it is a very important part of the main plot. And it will be tied mainly to the combat system.
All three of these stories will converge in their finale as the beginning of the story of the main game Threads of Destiny. But, each of these games will have its own unique, distinct mechanics from each other.
We want our games to be interesting, fun, and of good quality. We want to create a decent main game Threads of Destiny, with a tactical combat system and an interesting plot out of that game made on RPGMaker, and this takes both time and experience.
We will try to do everything in our power to delight you with something new and interesting. And soon we will return to the usual update release schedule.
Sincerely yours,
ElisarStudio!
