Do these posters have any significance for the game, e.g. knowing in which "time" one is (if one even would forget)?

What's the difference between patreon platinum and steam special edition (apart from incest patch content)?

Steam has TV/Movie posters censored as they are copyrighted. Steam is updated, has better dialogue, and more fixes.

Patreon doesn't have posters censored, and is no longer being updated.

Waiting for the linux version of the completed game to drop.

This is completed and has been for a year now., the update was for Mac fixes specifically, you won't notice anything, if the previous version works for you, then you really don't need to update at all.

There were some issues reported for some mac's not beeing able to run the game at all, and we may finally say we have a fix, the steam library had some issues specifically on some processor architectures.

Thanks for your patience. We wouldn't have been able to solve this without your help in sending the log files to us.

Well, yes, the Steam version is undoubtedly better, but only for newcomers and with the incest patch, otherwise it's on a par with the original version.
