Yes, it's for a sequel. It's onhold currently, the dev is working on Scars of Summer's sequel.

There was a base version and later with patch (1.01 or 1.02) an extended version was released with additional scenes.
I don't remember whether it was called an extension or dlc but it added more scenes.
