Abere, I am a huge fan of this game man. As a Marine Corps veteran I have actually spent time in lost in the woods. I also spent time in Okinawa. So this game hits me in a few places. I appreciate this whole project. Thanks.
A Marine huh? I won't hold that against ya. LOL! Just kidding. I got a cousin that's a Jarhead. My family is mostly Army and Navy though. I'm glad you're enjoying the game. Also I do plan to introduce a Marine character into the game. I'm thinking about making it Sachi's Native American dad.

Testing out some food assets. Looking at this render I should probably add a line in one of the updates mentioning that sugar belongs in spaghetti Sause. It's something that is known by all Italians but non-Italians don't really know it. The mom in Tomboy is Italian. She would know this and make a big deal about it. How do I know this? I might have some very strong Sicilian blood running through my veins. Remember I'm only half redneck. My other half is Italian. Mama Mia! LOL! 1.png

I'm starting to realize that the Tomboy Supremacy 0.10 Alpha probably won't be released until mid-November at the earliest. I've been rendering for 4+ weeks and I'm only 38% done. Yes, I was halfway done but I added 5 pages which dropped the percentage down. That means the full update, which I'm trying to make even longer than the Alpha, probably won't be released until early next year. Probably around January. As I continue to say "This is a really big update."

Grandma's family was from Northern Italy, so might have been a little different, but our way was to add the sugar when the tomatoes were store bought and not very sweet. If you grew them yourself (which we often did) or got them from a farmer directly (which we sometimes did), and they were actually picked when ripe, no need for it. The grocery store tomatoes tend to be picked way too early and artificially "ripened", and they don't develop the natural sugars, resulting in little to no flavor, so you need to add some.

In Sicily they always add a pinch of sugar.

My Italian connections agree, adding sugar is very much a southern thing. A little sugar might be added in the north, IF the tomatoes aren't sweet enough. Maybe southern conditions grow less sweet tomatoes, maybe they just have a preference for sweeter.
