I'll tell you why. Because deep down we're all still baffled at just how incompetent Koda is, or simply in denial. And I can't really blame us, how do you make the same mistake over and over and over and over and over again? This is why I'm convinced he's got some kind of mental disorder, and why I think people should encourage him to go see a professional. But Sylph Phoenix disagrees with me and he has interacted with Koda the most out of everyone here, so...
But even if there's nothing majorly wrong with him, he's still in dire need of some therapy... but maybe that's too expensive for him since he's in the US (I think?) and they lack universal healthcare over there, Idk.
I guess insurance companies are the reason why ToT is fucked ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's less about incompetency. That guy is taking his patrons for a ride.

No work with pay is better than hard work with pay for him. Dissatisfied consumers are no issue to him as long as he has enough patrons.

Koda is (almost) innocent.

Fact: All Bo Wei's games before Koda, where pretty much useless as porn games.

Fact: When Bo did small floors and provided koda with material to work with, the update speed was tolerable.

Koda was pretty much asked to do updates with no material to work with. How inspirational is it do to basically text-based updates to already finished floors? Then get dropped with a massive floor 8 months later that need tons of work, and expected to cover for the lack of updates earlier.

Sure, Koda is a complete *** when it comes to communication, planning and all the other stuff. But, Bo Wei is the main culprit here.

Hey man at least this game gets updates every blue moon there are lots of games that dont get updates for MONTHS

(almost) innocent is not the word I would use.
I'm not one of the people here who is all #kodaout the game would be perfect without him. Because he is a great writer and the game would not be half as good without him.

But he is just such a dickhead human. Honestly. He apologies after each delay but that doesn't stop him from making a countdown timer next time. Despite audience giving him feedback, he never at any point seems to change any of his work habits or communication habits. There are so many basic things he could do, and he just refuses to do them.

And you are right, Bo isn't innocent either. He too could improve his audience experience by making so many basic changes. IE his audience supports him every month, the least he could do is give them a progress report. Or realize that people are tired of 'New project announcements' and instead he and Koda could buckle down and finish floor 7.

At this point I love ToT, but at this point the developers behind it have just been such, for lack of a better word, dickish unmanageable children, that I really can't ever see myself supporting them on Patron again unless they did pay by update.

ToT's development hell is worse than 99% of other games' development cycles. Just because you can find some obscure game in the 1% that manages to do things worse than ToT, that doesn't mean that what ToT is doing is acceptable. This should be OBVIOUS.

Fact #1 is just your opinion, Fact #2 is an outright lie. Just look at Cobra's update.
I swear, the lengths that some of you go to defend these strangers that are taking advantage of you is just ridiculous...

When someone goes around saying "thing X is not that bad, thing Y is much worse" what other people take away from it is "I can deal with the level of badness that there is in thing X, whereas I can't do that for thing Y". Work on your communication skills, I guess...
