Wait, have you been able to get the icons on the title screen to light up? How? I've been playing this for a while and I've never had that happen.
Never payed attention to the clock, but the time of the day does change as we can see different times of day in the background. So if the clock doesn't change its probably a bug?

Im almost certain i did at one point. According to some posts on Itch.io its supposed to light up as you unlock things in the gallery, but i cant seem to find any more on it
These icons have always been there, even with the initial release. I think there were only three back then. Every update brings one or a few new icons, each symbolizing an enemy. The gallery came much later. They don't light up before or after the gallery.
Huh, that's weird. Were these posts you saw from the dev, or from another player? If they were from a player, it could be that they're just misremembering.
The same thing happens for me, so I assume it's intentional. I think time passes once you get kicked out/kick Elize out of your body. It's probably to make it so that you don't end up wasting a while bunch of time if Elize decides to possess you for a long time.
Yes, when Penelopy steals Celica's body for the first time and Spirit Celica is running around looking for it, she is harrased by Elize when she encounters her. Its a one time event though.
Grinding up Celica herself isn't too tough IMO, at least if they add new areas with new treasure to get when they increase the cap.
