Maybe, but they're getting a signal from something. If it's digital it means there is hope for the phones and/or maybe they should revisit the phone store and look for some kind of signal booster. If it's analog then it has some kind of built in antennae. (Sorry, probably totally overthinking this.)
unless they are really into the tech stuff they won't be able to "boost" digital signals. But it's also confusing since if infrastructure is intact (power, water etc), whatever smog wouldn't really affect underground cables (which is where that will be unlike cellphone towers, those can be fucked by the acid smog). For analog signals with modern TVs, you'd need an antenna on the roof connected to the TV, but show me an office building where you have that nowadays.

Like I said, I'm probably overthinking and am probably more tech literate than these folks but personally I'd be way more excited about getting a live signal than about what they said in the broadcast.

And now we have this one. Could it be a new turn? OR could it possibly be an even more advanced one, One that can act human and lure people into the fog? That would be interesting. It almost seems like she's trying to gesture.

A little detail i noticed in Macy's hideout was the duration of the crisis. Macy counted 20 days being stuck in the classroom but Laura mentioned that it's only been 18 days. Some supernatural time manipulation fuckery going on?
Macy might have been referring to the first instance of the fog appearing (would have to double check, first instance of fog is first day with otis, Mc goes home, goes to work next day, gets trapped with kallie due to fog, Laura is... next day I think?) versus Laura's "we only really noticed how dangerous the fog is 18 days ago?" or "we grouped up 18 days ago" (if you assume Macy didn't mark the 21st day and decided to attempt to get out first)

... huh, I haven't kept track of how many days have actually passed in-game, so I cant even be sure of the 18 day number... I know it tells you what day it is during transitions, but I probably won't check until next version.

25 days, hmm. So even if you remove the first "3" days lets say, (first 2 days of prologue + the first day of the fog itself counting as a day) then consider the "5th" not a full day yet so 22 days = 21 days. its actually quite accurate. If they left the day of the fog, and then she barricaded into the classroom, typically she wouldnt count that night as a full day, to explain the thought.

Y'know, they talk multiple times about needing more weapons than just the axe, and yet they never bother making more weapons. They had all that time the second office, the one with the fitness center and the SUV, that they could've made another weapon. And then at the campus, they have all this time to make more weapons. And they just...don't. And not for lack of materials. After all, they have an axe. There was a conference table, as well as some couches and benches, in the second office. The campus has plenty of beds that aren't being used. Take the axe to a couple, chop the bed frames side pieces off (the long sides), and fashion spears out of them. Not only does that give the girls a way to defend themselves, but it's also a lot more of a ranged weapon than the fire axe is, lessening the attack power of the Burned Ones.

Everything is a weapon if it's used right (or ... wrong I guess).

That too. I just think that turning something into a spear would be more practical for ease of use and the longer reach, since those things spray out.

Unrelated note, how long is it between updates for this game. Because.

Now they're on campus, they need to hit a science lab. They probably won't have full hazmat suits but they'll have protective gear - aprons and goggles at least. Then they need to head down to the PE/sports area because there should be baseball bats/cricket bats/hockey sticks ... or similar.

Edit: Then they need to find out if the college has a radio station (some do) and check there for coms equiptment - if not check the security office (even if it's just some walkie talkies so they can talk to each other if they split up.)

I think any portable radio/walkie talkie would have the same problem as the cars. The fog seems to affect the batteries and the signals. Their phones kept power but they weren't subjected to the fog being either inside with them or in pockets when on the move. I myself would have went to the roof of the tallest building I could get to and try to get a visual of just how invasive this fog is and if the building is 20 or more floors you might be able to get a phone signal. ( all this is just my thoughts on what I would do)

The game was released at the end of December 2024 and has had 7 updates since then. So it's averaging an update a month. Pretty damned good I think.

Yeah I also saw that one, I believe he may have written the second scene before the previous one, even if it comes later in the story.
Anyway, later on they acknowledge they have sunglasses once again.

There are ways - even if they keep them wrapped in plastic, turn the volume up and just communicate in short codes with the squelch button. I like the story so far but none of these people are what I'd call resourceful.

Unfortunately, McGiver was on vacation in Cancun at the start of the game and couldn't make it back to help them. :ROFLMAO:

 Doesn't have to be McGiver, no ones asking them to make a bomb out of a milk carton and a deck of playing cards, it's just that they seem to be obsessed with clothing and food and nothing else as if there's nothing else that might come in handy or make things easier. Right now they're on a college campus - as I said earlier

A science lab would have legit protective gear
If they can't find any other weapons, the PE/Gym area would have bats or sticks of some kind
Somewhere in the dorm rooms there should be additional backpacks
The radio or security office might have coms gear - hell security might even have some riot shields - imagine walking down the street together with a backpack on everyone a baseball bat (or a maglight) and a riot shield
The nursing station should have some first aid supplies, maybe even some basic meds

Edit: There's also a cafeteria somewhere and, unless it's an especially fancy university, they'll have a lot of canned goods.
