Thank you for your reply. Just wanted to see which gpu you have as you said 3.1/2 hours rendering time for 1 scene. Have a nice day.

Yeah.. i tried to render with gtx 1080 and the rendering time was double or triple compared with i7 8700k (without overclock.. yet)
The good sides I could still use my PC without any limitations on GPU only.. rendering on cpu it keeps the cpu on 90%.. so not really place to do some other things.. still can watch a movie, keep on eye on f95 or pornhub, play a renpy game or maybe work on a new scene but that will be a bit laggy.

Have been working on more renders and coding scenes in Ren'Py, it seems like something easy to do but after five or six hours typing code, fixing bugs, and testing gameplay I realize is not as easy as it seems.

But well still moving forward, next I want to work on a sports field; a place where the girls will practice volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

Then I need the auditorium, library, and maybe a pool. That is what I think is all I need to complete the school area.

Soon I will have another GPU which means a second workstation capable of rendering, probably next month I'm gonna enjoy a speed up in the rendering department.

Here is one of my last renders:

Getting ready to move into the sport fields.

Wow!
I really like your stuff... and especially your enthusiasm despite the set backs you encountered. I have been thinking about creating a game myself, so I like to read threads like yours to get ideas and encouragement.

If you need someone to proofread (or help with American English - I've noticed that some non-native English speakers have a lot of trouble with Turn of Phrase/Euphemisms/Idioms etc) I would be glad to help (free!)

Just let me know.

Regardless, I will be watching your progress and am sure your venture will be a success!

Update.

I'm halfway through the basketball scenes, is weird but I haven't find more sport field assets; like a soccer field, volleyball field, or more school sport areas...

Guess I will have to build them importing assets or using some HDRis.

Here is a render while I try to build a soccer field.

Mrs. Smith: I used to play basketball in college.
Tiffany: I can get you the ball if you wanna make some throws.

I've certainly seen volleyball nets/balls. And even in real life most indoor volleyball takes place just in a basketball gym (pretty sure I've seen beach volleyball sets with lines included). Although not sure I've seen a basketball gym setup with cross-stripes to match a volleyball court. Still, is only the court lines you would need to create.

Soccer is pretty much same. I've certainly seen goal and ball and grass field. Granted, adding striping to a grass field will be harder than adding it to a gym floor. If there isn't a full soccer field out there, I'd guess it's the grass is the reason why. I rarely see packages/assets that are man-made centric scene but with a heavy nature scenery presence (other than a background hdri).

The assets I have seen around:

Also:

There is also a basic volleyball scene in the basic DAZ3D scene builder.

The HDRi seem like a good outside option

If you know of more assets maybe you can add some links so I can check them out.

Not sure what all you are looking for. Your list already has a full basketball court, soccer field, tennis court, baseball field, volleyball net and ball, pool.

There are also things like:
, , , , , , , assets which are easy enough to find for boxing and wrestling...

Not really, the only "full" asset would be the basketball field I'm already using and even that one needed a ton of adjustments; lightning, shaders, props, environment HDRi, posing, and scaling were a few things I had to add and/or adjust...

Urban playground has basic textures and props that can be used but certainly the school doesn't have playfields in the middle of the city... nor they have metal cages around them...

The indoor asset also have many useful props but the school is not in a spaceship... :ROFLMAO:

Most of those assets need to be heavily edited to be fit into the game world.

There are three assets that I think will be the winners:

They will need some editing like deleting sections, changing shaders, removing props, adding props, adding lights, adding an HDRi, and some posing/scaling...

Is not that easy, I wish it was but is not like all you need to do is to dump them into an scene and that's it.
Also there are many hiccups you can find with old assets; like low texture resolution, no Iray materials, blocky low-res meshes, and many more.

I asked because maybe there was an asset somewhere that was recent and more complete than just a few props and textures.

Thanks for taking the time to look for those assets tho, appreciate the help.

a small suggestion on the hardware thing vs render time... if you do ANYTHING that needs the gfx card, while rendering, it will slow the render process down. your best bets are to either use a batch render system (there are a couple of them out there) or to install a second gfx card, that is JUST for display purposes or for rendering. Then set Daz to use the better of the two cards and keep everything else away from it. But hey, that's just my take on it... it's your machine, game, money and time... lol

Another suggestion is how to protect yourself from drive failure/storm damages wiping out everything. I have a LARGE drive that has one purpose in life... to store all my DL'ed assets, still in compressed form, along with my character and scene files I've created. When that drive is not in use to move things to it or from it, it's "Off-Line" and powered down. This has saved me twice now, once from a storm surge that killed a drive, and once from a critical drive failure due to age... Just something to consider. :)

The main thing I use for protection is a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply, not the parcel carrier), they aren't cheap, but I've been using one for around 20 years, and since using one, I've never had a power issue. Of course, the UPS only protects against power issues; to protect against data issues, I use a mixture of cloud storage and an external NAS (which is also connected to the UPS).

yer right, and I forgot to mention those things... The Surge protected outlet strip, and the 1.5KV UPS I finally scored DO help some. Especially since my power is provided by one of the worst rated Electric Utilities in the USA... *Fucking DTE SUCKS!!!*

I certainly wasn't trying to trivialize your workload. It's a ton of work to build up a scene.

As for finding a completely furnished, 100% ready set that has lighting, hdri, all assets, and up-to-date textures is rare enough. Then add in wanting the setting, appearance, exact design, and texture sets and everything else that is required to actually perfectly match a world you are building... yeah, not saying you can't occasionally get super lucky, but basically you're looking for live unicorns there.

But for things like gym activities (basketball, volleyball, ping pong, wrestling, etc), you only need to have one gym. After all, that's how most schools do it in real life. You simply wheel inside the equipment you need for the current event.

Outdoor activities aren't quite as true on being able to simply swap in a few pieces of equipment and using the otherwise same "room." But set up one outdoor activity and a lot of that work can be reused with only minor tweaking as a base upon which to build other outdoor scenes. Certainly don't need to start from scratch every time.

I'm in the process of building a second rendering computer, just ordered a new RTX 2080 super. Yeah I'm jumping in the RTX wagon. :ROFLMAO: Beside I'm upgrading from a GTX 1080, no TI just 1080.

I close any other applications while rendering, I do my gaming on PS4, but getting a low profile video card just for the display sounds like a good idea.

The only reason I was able to save some old scenes, character presets, and skinbuilder creations along with my assets library was because I also have an external storage drive. But I got lazy and forgot to backup my most recent files, not doing that again, now I try to back them up almost every day.

Thanks for your suggestions. :giggle:

And hdri are nice and all, but for a game environment they are pretty limiting. Every event in the area needs to take place at pretty much the same location. Hard to get a good quality mid-field soccer scene and a diving goalie save out of the same hdri file.
