One of the Japanese comments had this to say:

To everyone who has been asking if the blackout during H-scenes is a bug, this is not a bug. If you try to display the same CG in a different way, both will be black as normal. This is what happens when temporary materials are displayed during production. If it were a bug, one of them would malfunction. In other words, the game was released before the incorporation of H-scene materials was complete. This is why only the CG in the early scenes is displayed, and the later it becomes invisible. The creator is well aware that this is not a bug, and that they released it unfinished, and they would never normally admit it, so it's pointless to ask here. It would be more effective to file a complaint directly with dlsite to temporarily halt sales. If it goes through and sales are halted, the creator will have no choice but to complete it.

TLDR: Missing CGs not a bug, Devs released unfinished work.

There's also some comments about legal action, probably just bluster but yeah, missing content is not a great look.

Acerola has made a lot of great games before this so I'm still hoping they come out alright out of this personally.

yeah i cant even get it to working with patreon version of mtool it just throws font errors View attachment 4481642

and if you do what devs mentioned [
「anime.wolf」「BattleEffect.wolf」「BGM.wolf」
 のデータを削除して頂き、
 「animeフォルダ」「BattleEffectフォルダ」「BGMフォルダ」
] mtool straight up crashes the game!!! so the way it is, the game is not playable with it atm.
on another side note on japanese versions atleast somewhat playable after doing what devs mentioned and updating to 1.2
i am gonna wait until mtool team or acelora team fixes their shit then give it an another try if anyone gets it working propely let me know
The only problems the game has are mid-game, late-game and mostly with the cg not appearing, the entire beginning and first part of the game works correctly so you are doing something wrong, check what version you have and read the forum, you will surely find a solution very close to you.

And if you have any problems you can go to ci-en to report errors because we can't help you no matter how many errors you post, What I can assure you is that I can play perfectly and that the solution that Acerola gives works.

Users have already dissected the game and there is a lot of CG maybe an error that dont allows them to be displayed in any way. Wolf RPG gives many errors.

According to users, the CGs that appear in black are inside the game. It cannot be assured that they are all there since there are so many.

I'm not trying to defend Acerola. I think they've done a terrible job. Only time will tell if it's fixed or not. If they delete things or not. Any assumptions made right now are meaningless. The most valid complaint out there is the people who complain that they are not beta testers and want to play the game and do not report bugs.

Yeah while the launch is quite a dumpster fire I find it hard to believe they straight up launched a game knowing it doesn't have all the CGs. Lack of testing is more believable to me.
Whatever the reason is, the situation is a real shame. Hope they can recover, though I can't imagine how after such a blunder.

Well holy shit... didn't think Acerola would pull a "Bethesda" on us...

They definitely need to fix that before all the good will they earned goes out the window. Hell, even kagura games loves translating and decensoring their stuff.

the blackscreen I encounter mostly were the pixelated ones. CGs are missing as well?

I like Acerola but man I really wish they would change up some of the sprites/beastmen/monsters in h-scenes. They have been the same every game and they always dance around actually showing any non-human genitalia and the few times they do it's usually just a human one but colored differently despite the dialogue saying it has a weird shape or whatever. Hell they usually shy away from showing the said creature in general a lot of the time.

It's not that big of a deal at first but when it happens every game its a bit jarring to say the least.

Also the silent treatment for the past few days from Acerola is concerning to say the least. Considering they had billboard ads and whatnot in JP for the game i'm assuming the devs told whoever handles marketing the game would be finished and good to go by x date so when marketing got those billboards ready and paid for em it ended up not being ready so they had to rush it out, or risk money on the billboard ads.

Edit: After reading some more ci-en comments apparently they have some sort of Collab Café (Bar) going on so they couldn't delay it? So ya guess they fucked themselves over.

I agree. In all their games the monster sprites are usually just shadows. Something that also bores me about Acerola's games is that the pattern of scenes is the same, some events with NPCs with unique scenes, defeat scenes, scenes with important NPCs and the generic scenes that are repeated over and over and over again.
I also love Acerola but their last games have felt a bit of the same, even if they change the mechanics a bit, the scenes are always repetitive.

Gotta wait for the Tuesday as there might be a huge Monday meeting in their office. They can't let their Ci-en on fire forever.
