This game's naming sense for skills is unparalleled.
There's a point in the game where Flan's skill Laevateinn is replaced with a skill that when fully translated is called, I shit you not, "Ahegaoing from my Masochistic Ass-Teinn" (マゾケツデアヘルティン, or Mazo-Ketsu-De-Aheru-Teinn).
I searched actual Norse mythology websites to see if it was a term related to Laevateinn and then realized it meant this.
I have nowhere to go in life but down from here, this is the peak.

I'm asking because I have very little experience with Touhou, but have seen gameplay of it.
I'm beginning to translate it but from what I can see the game has about 91 sex scenes spread across 20,000 lines of dialogue, not including maps with dialogue for the story.
I love the content, I just won't be able to finish it any time soon.

Nice to hear this is getting picked up.

As per the Touhouness of this game, the setting it's in has nothing to do with Touhou, but the poached characters seem to be pretty close to popular fandom interpretations, personality-wise.

Hi.

This is going to be a long project and will take some time to complete, so I figured I would give progress updates every 10% I complete of the CommonEvents, where the sex scenes are. 10% is around 2k lines of dialogue, as the game has nearly 20k total lines not including other maps, system stuff, etc.

I'm just creating a roadmap of what I'm doing for the game down below.

-I'll be translating the game fully, and I'll scour every dialogue box possible to make sure that happens.

-Once that's done I'll start looking for grammar mistakes, missed translated dialogue and text wrapping issues.

-And finally ill try my hand at translating the text on images in this game since there's graffiti sections, though this part may be cut out because of how the images work. Here's an example down below if you want to see what may need to be translated.

I don't think he ever said anything, and I still found his CGs on hitomi and the like so I guess it is fine.

That's odd, I could swear I saw the CG gallery for this game on e-hentai at one point. Maybe it's been purged?

Or maybe I'm going senile, that is also possible.

Quick update because this is something I need to figure out now: photo editing is hard, but satisfying to pull off, I just wish I had more time to make it look pretty.

Currently, the problem is not with editing text onto a picture, but to blend it in with previously existing obstacles.

The first image is my current progress on a photo combining the second and third image.

If you zoom in where "Under" should be in the first image you can tell how awkward the blending is in the image, but I'm hoping it isn't too noticeable when playing the actual game.

Any idea how to make this process easier, or is this satisfactory?

I like to try considering I can do a pretty okay job at it.

I was never the best at it, but I can do some simple edits.

Well worth the effort too since people know what words are being written on the girls' bodies.

It's just a matter of needing to spend more time on the project since I'm doing everything as a single person.

I translated most of the H status (I was only able to translate the first title, I can't figure out how to change the others)
All you have to do is replace plugins.js in www/js
I didn't test this that much but I don't think it broke anything, let me know if it did.
Here's a quick and dirty MTL of the V1.10 with word wrapping applied. Should just have to overwrite your data folder in /www

Can't help with the image editing, but I can say it's definitely satisfactory, and really more than anyone could even reasonably expect. I'd say you can keep the current quality, the original CG can always be included as a separate file for people that really want them.

The word on her right thigh (キモオタ) is "Kimoota," or "creepy otaku." I remember the machine translator having trouble with that one.

"Creepy otaku" does not really roll off the tongue like a four syllable word does. I suppose it could be localized somehow if one were so inclined, though.

Aw shit that would actually makes sense.

The game directly labels the antagonist as キモヲ(Kimowo), so I've been using that as a baseline, but he is an otaku with hobbies dealing with maids, figurines, and card games, and I believe that is an abbreviation for Kimoota after looking it up for a bit. Maybe it's one of those pun names that's meant to sound like a legitimate name and also be an abbreviation/reference to something else.

I had considered trying to localize it to a name containing Gross or Disgusting (Like Grossberg or something) but figured it would be odd for that sole English-type name to be there among other characters like Flan, Aya, Satori and Eiki.

Flan also refers to him as キモおじさま (Kimo-ojisama), which I think directly translates to (Disgusting - old man), so I've been translating Flan's insults for him through different variations of that. He's also described as a "creepy middle-aged man" before revealing his name, so he's decently old (around 45-65 according to the internet) and I ran with that.

In that specific photo I didn't really know if any of them worked so I just went with his actual name for the sake of space and making it easier on myself.

Funny enough, there is a character within the dialogue whose name is actually labeled Kimoota, but it's referenced in armor/weapons that were made for their previous title with the two knights.

If you're using Photoshop and want to make it blend in more realistically, I would recommend making a Hue/Saturation adjustment on the brighter parts, upping the brightness a bit, and using a Gaussian blur on the mask. You could also use the Curve adjustment on that section, but that's a little more finicky. I'm not sure if it's necessary considering that the original artist didn't even do that, so your call.

I tried to use GIMP and Paint.NET for a while to edit pictures, but Photoshop really is a lot better without being particularly harder to use. There are a ton of easy ways to pirate Photoshop, and I definitely recommend using GenP.
