Anybody have an updated walkthrough? The last one I see was up through v0.402. Also, I lost all the hidden images I had unlocked, which was all of them. Any way to get those back without going back to the specific locations?

Ever wonder what the room across from the garage is? Laundry room! I'll have some great rewards waiting after doing some laundry with Mia in v0.60!

Until then consider supporting my Kickstarter to help me finish Escape and get working on the Next game in the series!!

I will try to make some new sigs soon!
Cool! If you nail it, it can replace my Sexbot sig ;) (though it doesn't necessarily need to be animated or smthng AFAIC)

Hmm.. One with mini Ivy then perhaps? (@Zavijava_ do you do sig requests as well?)

The minigames are really annoying. Also for example when peeking at Mia cleaning, the thing you have to time is moving at the speed of light. It should be rebalanced.

The Mini Games Issue:

Hey all! I really need some feedback with the minigames in Escape from Ivy & Piper. I am really loving the story and direction of the game, the interactions, the animations and renders. BUT I want it to also be a FUN game. It's not a sandbox, it's not quite the "Escape room" gameplay I was hoping for. The mini games are fun for some and downright awful for others.

I need a solution. I am halfway done and have had enough time to gain some insightful feedback. One option is always to skip the minigames (which I might do) but that feels cheap. What I really want to do is MAKE THE MINIGAMES BETTER! But I also don't want to spend 50% of development time on minigames. I want to spend 80% of my time on story, renders, and animations. Then maybe 10% on minigames, and 10% on everything else.

This is what I have been doing and I think it shows. The lack of effort in the minigames. The lack of single direction in gameplay. This is my first game at this size. Strip n play with Val was 3 minigames. Easy, short and sweet. Lana and the Milking Table was just a story. And Emma in the Library was a Quiz game. They have their flaws, but they all had a direction.

Escape is ALMOST what I intended. But it evolved into something else. So I am here to ask which part of the GAMEPLAY is the most fun. (For the sake of this poll, I will assume images, animations and story are good). I want to know what game aspect/specific minigames are fun. And which ones need to go.

Please post your honest opinion on the games. I know you all here support me, so there will be no hurt feelings here. Be honest, I want to make this game better and now is the time!

Thank you all so much for your support!

Hey,

The first game of yours I played was Strip n play with Val. I was excited to play this one when I heard this was the sequel. I liked the changes mostly and I think making it was sandbox was good too. Though the sandbox navigation still needs to be streamlined. This to be was the most tedious aspect.
On the the minigames, I like their inclusion and I feel they help give a break from reading dialogues. But like you've noticed gameplay in the minigames itself is not enjoyable. And I like the idea of minigames to build rapport with the characters.
Going through the minigames one by one:

1) The cleaning one: This as a concept is fine but the navigation is what make it tedious. Also when the area is big and has multiple angles, for example the living room, it becomes hard to see the intractable regions.

2)The Piper one which we need to press the glowing button quickly: This one is just too much work. Maybe having a upper limit to the score you need to hit before the time runs out would make it more bearable? Right now it just feels like not worth the effort.

The circuit board arrangement, finding the differences and the memory one with Piper were fine to me.

Maybe you can add games where the player action is to just press and hold the mouse button or hit the mouse button when the cursor is in the correct location in a bar. Personally these would more enjoyable for me since It requires not much effort. As an example I would say the way the gamaplay is in the minigames of Summer memories by Dojin Otome.

All the best with the development.

Hey everyone,

I have an important update and a big question for you all as we hit a major milestone in development.

Now that I'm about halfway done, the game has evolved from its original concept. "Escape from Ivy & Piper" started as a series of escape-room levels. But as the story grew, it became a much richer experience driven by narrative and mini-games—a direction I’m incredibly excited about.

The problem is, the title "Escape from Ivy & Piper" is now misleading and doesn't fit the gameplay anymore.

I'm strongly considering changing the name to "Trapped with Ivy & Piper."

I know a name change mid-development is a big deal. It means re-making all the logos and promotional material, and it risks confusing some of you. However, I believe a title that accurately reflects the game is more important in the long run, and I'll be sure to make the change clear in all future updates.

I feel "Trapped with Ivy & Piper" works better because:

  1. It better reflects the gameplay—you're stuck in a situation with them.
  2. The MC literally starts the game trapped in a chair.
  3. It hints at the deeper theme: Ivy and Piper are also emotionally "trapped" in their own lives.
This is where you come in. Your opinion matters most before I commit to all the rework.

Please vote in the poll below and let me know what you think!

Should we stick with "Escape from Ivy & Piper" or change to "Trapped with Ivy & Piper"?

Any rapid input or time-limiting system is always going to be problematic. Ren'Py is barely designed to handle it well, and while my system generally doesn't care, I don't love mashing a button repeatedly. The peeking game is also not fun (partially to do with the engine). IMO, both of these have been overdone in other games because they work well and are simple. The button mashing input game is also brokenly overpowered if you use a macro to do it (to prevent RSI).

Adding a skip and setting everything to have a default outcome (fixed gain for pass, same for skip) is probably the better way to go. Keeps everyone happy, and allows you to add random minigames if you want.

So, I've decided to make the Ivy and Piper game have a Story mode, just like I did with Strip n Play with Val. I think this will solve 2 issues.

1: It will allow all the players who don't like minigames to skip them and just focus on story. (I will still keep the dialogue selections for them, but you wont have to navigate to them.)

2: This will also allow me to fine tune and improve the minigames! Basically, everywhere there is supposed to be a mini-game or a sandbox element. I will create a small scene, with a few existing images and dialogue. This will make sure that the minigames that are supposed to be there, are in fact story relevant.

This will not be my main focus for v0.55. But it will be implemented in the future.

Thank you all for your feedback!

i enjoyed the strip n play with val mini games since i'm a sucker for puzzles and enjoyed putting the pieces together on what the actual scene was.

as for escape i'd say maybe only do them if they can play into the story somehow, like with helping val with the chemicals, helping her learn more about her abilities, or searching for clues in the house to learn about the past of Ivy, Piper, Val, Mia, etc. and then lean on what was learned into character dialogue. IDK

i enjoyed strip n play with val for the simplicity of it and i'm loving Escape for the actual story, plus all your models are hot as hell. but i'm enjoying the actual world of succubi you've created so i'm not real worried about the mini games.
