Everything was exactly as you described it. ToN ran in circles.
Now everything is fix up and you can continue playing at the point where the game was stuck.
The mistake you made: You went in the wrong direction and detonated a bomb to wrong time.
You're at 41%. Play exactly on v42072 . Then you won't make that mistake anymore.

This has to be the best game I've played so far and I ran through a lot of them. Looking forward to the updates. Animations are perfect and the game is actually fun. I am surprised I had to go searching for hours to find it.

you need saves of 40% or lower
if you don't have that, you have to start over or use someone else's saves.

I just tried with the saves supplied in the link you pointed towards. Can't load any of them. Guessing it's due to version incompatibility?

Everything is compatible there. But: The storage space in ToN must be occupied! So, you have to overwrite old saves with new ones.
Example. If you want to load a save Save10, you must have saved something on memory slot 10 beforehand. If this space 10 was empty, the newly loaded file will not be displayed.
