Hi! I have a problem, a bug maybe?
I'm at "A new guidebook will be available at the store soon"
And then when I go there, a car arrive and a bug pop up saying "Failed to load: img/characters/$PEOPLE-James@(7).png"

Your game is not fully loaded.
Delete it and download the full version 69012.

Why does the continue button disappear? I have saves in the right location and I also tried using one of the saves on page1 but nothing works

you miss this "Continue" ? continue.png
fist you need go to "New Game" and play the intro and save.

The problem Is for whatever reason, I absolutely can not get the snakes to slow down and don't have the patience to do 30 to 40 times. The other puzzles required thinking, which I do enjoy. This one is just reacting, which I don't.
you played with key and mouse like Puzzle 38.pdf say ?
you play with PC ? or android ? Yo have a mouse ?

Make sure you're playing from the same user you originally created your save, you may use the same path directory for both users, but even so, you won't have access to your original user. If that's not the case post a picture of your save file folder

??? What??

Saves are not bound to the OS of the player. I can use other user's saves created in Windows with my Linux version of the game.

What he miss is the defaultglobal file which is required to load other peoples saves.

I must admit, my phrasing wasn't good. What i meant to say is he should make sure his user is the same. You may create an user in your OS that doesn't necessarily partitionate your hardware space. By simply having two users on your operational system, the saving paths will differ, nonetheless, with a picture of his folder we will have a better view.

That of course might be a reason or the game is stored on a drive with no permission to access AppData. Wouldn't be the first time.

- missing defaultglobal file
- wrong directory (different user folder)
- no permission to access AppData due to the game stored in a different partition.

With the amount of epic fail we witnessed over the year(s) in this place, not much could surprise us anymore. Like dudes formating their HDD by misclicking or throwing their laptop in a fit of pure rage over puzzle 38, then said laptop gets squashed by a semi-truck before spontaneously catching on fire, in the rain.

As I've mentionned more times than humanly tolerable : 99%+ of everything wrong in here is user error.

Ha Ha, I reinstalled windows and forgot to back up my save files and had to replay this game from scratch. It was great. Now I'm going to go fishing and solve puzzles.

OP has loads of resources, partly because some people are nice, partly because they are sick of people asking the same questions for 1490 pages (and counting). Regardless, it's far more than everything you need.

As far as advancing the story, via the Soul Crystal, your hand is held the whole way, and there are very few choices with any consequences/impact, and none that alter the story. Really, the only tip is to avoid (like a few unfortunate souls here) getting trapped behind the counter at the bar and bait shop. There is no rollback option, so you'll have to load last save.

If you're in a mad lust to get to the booty call scenes, you will soon be in a mad lust for money to buy the stuff necessary to impress the birds to come over. You can grind/mod.
My advice: Hold off on the booty calls, as there are plenty of scenes in the normal course of play. Much like real life, booty calls are great, but don't do much to advance the main plot...but, buy the outfits.

Accordingly, hold off on grinding. You don't reach the most fertile ground for talisman farming until about halfway through the game. If you don't take my word for it, it's at that point that you'd understand what a waste of time any prior grinding was.

As for modding money, moral issues aside, there is a cap on how much money you should have in the early stages of the game. If you have too much, talismans will cease to spawn, which will mess you up because new types of talismans are introduced as part of the story advancement.

Modding also has the potential to screw up the game in other ways, and it's quite likely that the dev has set up booby-traps for that purpose. Of course, there are several people here who can help you with that, as well.

Your biggest risk of falling behind will be with the chest keys and the chests they open, which contain the k-pages necessary for booty calls. They are not always easy to find, and they are not necessary to advance the plot, so the game doesn't help you with this.

Anyone with half a brain and a modicum of diligence will be fine. If this is tl;dr, well, you'll be complaining about not being able to find Madalyn soon enough :ROFLMAO:
