Ah yeah, I guess you're right. Still, she's definitely more of a mature woman.
The updates are relatively short so when you've finished playing through an update save it when completed and make future saves after the next update in a different, separate slot. That way if something goes along the way with the new update at worst you will only have to start it again, from its beginning, by restarting the game using the previous update. Once you overwrite a save it's gone so before you do that make sure you really don't want to initialise ToN using that save in the future.
If you want to be doubly secure back up the folder/directory where your saves are stored whenever you play the game, preferably to the cloud to protect you against all contingencies. A 15 GiB MEGA cloud storage account is free and you can import files directly from other MEGA users to your account, without transferring them over the web, and then use MEGA's free MEGASync application to download anything from your account much more reliably than you could using a browser, especially with very large files like full versions of ToN. You could even sync the folder/directory where your saves are stored with you MEGA account meaning that every change to the contents of that folder/directory would be automatically reflected in the cloud so long as the MEGAsync application was running: MEGASync is available for Windows, MacOS and umpteen flavours of Linux which is nice and you will never lose any of your saves again.
I'm not advertising here and am hoping this post won't get deleted because I've got NOTHING to do with MEGA!

^ I'm at 10 hours and haven't much hit the fishing trash mini-game. Depending on if you read everything (ROFL) ingame or if you can decipher the cryptic and often forgotten soul crystal, you can probably do up to the 30% limit within ~8 hours-ish. Then add a few more if you wanna cringe through the fishes and/or scour endlessly for talismans

I'd say about at least half an hour for every "percentage" of the game, i played for 24 hours to complete it at 30% but i think it's doable in 15, if you keep asking for hints or you know exactly what to do maybe less
I found a way to increase the money on latest version, guess this might be useful to someone. Basically you need to edit your saved file. Use your saved file eg. Defaultfile10.rpgsave, take a back up to be on safe side.
Go to
Copy decoded file in to any text editor and search for '"variables":{"_data"'. You should see your current money there in third element of the array, edit that number to your desired value and save it some where. Go back to the website and paste your edited file contents on the top and you should see this at the bottom.

Here are a lot of save games. Just use version v16012 or v19021, should pretty much meet your 18% completion.
Oh, btw: I found them using the search function looking for "ton saves", and this was the third result -- just as a little reminder.

Great, tell more people how to f*ck up their game. I will keep adding anybody who asks "why can't I find jade talisman" or "why is my game broke" to the never ending ignore list of mine.
Oh, if you had spent that time it took you to figure out how to cheat grinding for talismans, you probably wouldn't needed a cheat.

No, not at all. It's a single player game after all, no competition, so I don't care if people screw up their experience (I'm still wondering why they bother at all "playing a game" and don't just surf PH or other XXX streaming sites to release tension to their blue balls...). But they will spam this thread with questions after they broke the game, that's for sure, and therefore I do care although I don't want to.
