What I don't understand with the patreon and card thing is, you pay patreon for something, your card company don't need to know anything other than "patreon" when it's used, they don't need to know who you're paying via patreon.
It's like, you're a cashier (patreon), someone gives you money for, i don't know, meat, do you tell the bank that the guy bought meat or that he just shop at your place ?
(sorry if i don't make sense)

This is all about laws, publicity and association. Patreon and PayPal are based on US laws and those can be quite prudish when it comes to certain fetishes. When a company wants to extend their business to families, desire the support of certain (prudish) magnates or politicians, or are simply forced to because of their laws, they can't be seen dealing or supporting "bad stuff" because it will hurt their reputation.

The costumer isn't at risk mostly because law enforcement can't go after everyone (also because not everyone who supports "bad porn" is on US territory) so they decide to go to the root of the problem instead. Patreon. And because Patreon doesn't want the men-in-black knocking at their door, they crack down on anyone using their platform to support "bad businesses". To use your analogy, it's like catching the cashier (Patreon) supporting potentially illicit activities in the basement on their establishment. Or Toys R' Us selling cannabis to kids, hiding the stuff inside the toys.

Anyway that's the gist of it. Someone can probably explain it better than I.

TL;DR: It's less about where YOU spend your money on and more about a big company providing fringe support to activities that the law, certain markets and financiers don't want to be associated with or are entirely against.

Makes sense, i still don't agree with how they do things, but i understand.

Actually one of the two people who used to post the backers updates has discontinued backing TiTS. As to the other person I haven't seen them around for a while. If you're really that desperate for every possible update, maybe try putting your money where your mouth is and back TiTS yourself.

This thread was updated with 0.8.039 before 0.8.040 was released, you weren't pointing anything out, you said there was no point in this?? In what exactly? volunteers keeping a thread updated and providing the latest version available at that time for download...
This thread will be updated with the backers update when one is available, until then you will have to make do with the public version.

I personally have never seen this thread have a build that fen's actual site didn't surpass if that isn't the case however I apologize. I didn't mean to start a fight I was merely stating my opinion based on the information (ie my own experiences) I had available to me at the time. This thread is 164 pages long I don't have the time to read everything so all I can judge the relevance of this thread on is what the build number on the thread is vs the build number on fen's site.

We have had this thread updated with public builds a numbers of times before, it's much better than just leaving the version in the OP to be multiple builds behind what is current, the thread will be updated with whatever version is available to share if all we can get is a public version and the one that is linked in the OP is an outdated older version then that is what gets shared, of-course users would prefer to have the latest backers build but unless someone who is subbed to fenco is willing to share it *shrug* then all we have are the public builds.
