1. She made a promise to Marie, her best friend and occasional lover. She was keeping that promise by not telling the MC.
2. How does her getting married make the plan pointless?
3. White knighting while admitting the mistakes she has made? Do you know what white knighting is?
4. Even if he didn't want to see Marie again, the condition of the divorce was so he could still see Milly. Instead, she kept Milly away from him, going against the conditions of the divorce. He knows the lawyers that represent Marie, so why didn't he get his lawyers to contact her lawyers to get access to Milly like he was promised?

I think that what you laid out in your posts is a damn good summary of what is wrong with all the fucking family of the MC. Going from the utterly magnificent stupidity of the plan and how it went tits up three seconds after they implemented it, to the blatant abuse towards the retarded MC.
Lets be real here what this cunts are doing to the MC is just plain emotional abuse and while I think Deb is a piece of shit the mother is the biggest two face turd of them all.
There is a type of emotional abuse called "withholding", it is broad and complex topic and it is used as tool by narcissist and psychopaths to manipulate people. I would recommend it as reading topic to comprehend the fierce disdain towards Deb and the POS characters of this VN. I will leave some bullet points to consider but it is by no means an in-depth description.
- When an individual tries to control or domineer over another person by refusing to authentically communicate.
- Withholding the truth (especially by omission) to string you along.
- Similar to gaslighting, withholding makes the victim feel as if they are isolated, ignored or do not have control over their own lives.
- One of the reasons it’s so damaging is because the victim cannot do anything to stop it; their only hope for relief is to leave the situation or rid themselves of the abuser.
- To a victim who feels trapped in a circumstance or relationship with someone who withholds, every instance of abuse sends the message, “You don’t deserve to be treated well.”
- Unlike the occasional white lies empathic people might tell to spare others or themselves from embarrassment or shame, malignant narcissists “omit” to tell you the truth about some pretty big facts.
- Withholding the truth can put their victims at risk but narcissists will do so frequently without care or concern because they lack empathy and possess an excessive sense of entitlement. To them, the most important thing is that their needs are met.
I never said it was a good apology, but it is the best he has let her say. My comment about him telling her to shut up had nothing to do with him being a monster, but everything about how she has physically not been able to apologise more. If he keeps interrupting her every time she tries to apologise, how can she apologise? All the complaints of "She hasn't apologised" which then changed it to "The apology wasn't good enough" (indicating they were wrong about the original complaint, but whatever) is stupid because she has tried to give a fuller apology but he won't let her. All she has managed was an anger fuelled apology because that is all she has been allowed to say. Maybe if he lets her actually talk you would get the apology you all want.
You are completely right, and the game has flat out said that Deb and the other family members are narcissists. Not sure how this is a revelation. Its a fucked up family doing fucked up things. The MC has done fucked up shit too though, some of which are also narcissist traits.
- Grandiose sense of self-importance: Everyone tells him to stop threatening to be a whistle-blower but he is steadfast because he is right, they are wrong.
- Lives in a fantasy world that supports their delusions of grandeur: See above, he is right and believes things will be fine when he reveals the truth about what happened in the war.
- Sense of entitlement: Again, see above.
- Frequently demeans, intimidates, bullies, or belittles others: Even before he found out about the secret he behaved this way with his sister. Look at how he was with Bart at the start of the story too.
His behaviour is the catalyst for all the fucked up things his family has done since he was arrested. He shouldn't be getting a free pass on the blame for the situation just because he was lied to. If he wasn't so screwed up nobody would have needed to lie to the MC and NONE of this story would have happened.
The only truly innocent member of the family is Milly. Despite being a little fucked up with her morbid porn cosplay stuff, and incestuous thoughts for her father, she is mostly normal and the only one whose actions didn't make this mess of situation. Most likely because she has been away from her father's family for so long.
Again, she had the chance to apologise and give a proper explanation when she was in that jail cell, but she didn't do it. I still don't count the "I'm sorry, but I'm also not gonna bother anymore" as an apology. Just because she decided to act all emo for a couple of days all of the sudden, doesn't mean she didn't have any chances to talk to him. They live in the same house. The trip to the hospital would also be a good chance to do that, instead of making him the butt of a joke for the millionth time... It's just (once again) that everything needs to happen in her terms or not at all. He had to be cool and let her talk to him when she wanted it, right? Why would someone who just found he was betrayed (once again...) by the person he trusted more than anyone, need his space for a while, right? He didn't let her talk in the car? Well, fuck him! How dare he? She's obviously done trying after that... It's not like she hurt him multiple times...
Yes, although I like to call the MC retarded based on this: While you are right in your 4 points, he caves in at any point his family confronts him (apart from his reaction when he found the picture of Milly visiting his family), so he is just an idiot with delusions. He is too much a wimp to be called a narcissist, he is just an overgrown child holding his penis on one hand and playing with buggers with the other. At this point I do not get immersed in the story, I just feel sorry for the MC and keep reading for the smut and morbid curiosity.
Your point raises the question for me. Would I enjoy more this VN if the MC acted like a true narcissist? Yes, yes I would. It would imply that we could put Deb in her place. Which was the supposed purpose of the point system but it does nothing to alter the story.
Ahh yes, the jail scene, where he gives her only a couple of minutes of time before telling her to fuck off and storms out of the jail with her trying to call him back? He was still too angry to listen (rightfully) and she was too upset to tell him everything. Both were too upset to go into everything in the jail.
They live in the same house? Well, if he isn't letting her talk everywhere else, why would he give her a chance to speak to him in the house?
The joke at the hospital was Milly's idea, not Deb's. Also, that is family banter, just a little more messed up. Families tease each other. Yeah, he is usually the butt of the jokes, but that is how families are, especially Scottish families.
Also, reign in your moaning. Nobody is saying he is wrong to be angry and keep her from talking to him, but you can't have it both ways. He is angry and doesn't let her talk, which he is fully entitled to. Please explain then how she was supposed to explain everything when A. He is too angry to listen to her, and B. He is too angry to let her talk. Nobody is denying that she is in the wrong in this situation. Should she strap him to a chair, shove a ball gag in his mouth and then start monologing? You will continue to complain that "He is the butt of the joke" again.
Where is that "everywhere" he doesn't let her talk, you keep talking about? He asked her in the cell why she did it, she refused to tell him, she answerd "I don't know" or something like that and then he didn't wanted to talk to her in the car. Other than that their only other weird interaction I remember is her getting up to leave the moment he goes towards them, when she was sitting in the garden with Milly and Astrid.
It's obvious that in your mind the MC is the villain of this story and Deb some kind of martyr! You've even said before that she couldn't tell him the truth because she promised Marie she wouldn't and she was important for her! That proves my point that the MC isn't really as important to her as she keeps saying (but never showing) since her promise to him to never lie to him preceeded the one she gave to Marie, but she had no issues breaking it. And here's where I stop this conversation because it leads to nowhere and you started the usual "moaning" bullshit. If you don't like reading different opinions, you'd probably want to stay away from the internet.

The only one who screwed up big time were MC's wife and mom when they made this plan which wasn't gonna work out and only ended up hurting and ruining other relationships MC had. Also the fact that before going to jail MC wasn't listening to anyone because of his revenge thoughts against some strong people could have gotten him and his family killed , so surely they thought the plan was gonna be good but actually it wasn't good at all and just fucked everyone's life up.
On another note just in case hypothetically speaking MC's wife turns out to be alive , and we are given a choice to have her back and be family again or spend life with the sis or move away with daughter . I am not gonna take her back no matter how good her intentions were nor the sis and might wanna move away with MC and daughter together as they are only the both who were hurt the most. HOPEFULLY WE GET TO MAKE THE CHOICE IN THE END

I had put off "playing" this VN for some time, but when I did, I got addicted & didn't want to stop (Unfortunately I finished the current build 
).
It is so engaging & the story is amazing. Your writing is very well done. I can't get enough of this. If this were made into a Hentai Series (Due to some of the subject matter & sex), I would watch it without question. I usually find 1or 2 Characters in VNs pretty forgettable, but in this occasion, that is not the case.
