That has happened to me in the past as well, but it was my browser caching the older page. CTRL-F5 fixed that right up.
Give that a shot if it happens again.

I mean... you could just choose NOT to play it like many others who didn't like the direction dev was heading into. Dev certainly has a canon story he wants to tell and like it or not, that includes forgiving those closest to the MC and wronged him in the past.

For the record, I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of lewds this update. Considering how long it took to come out after the last update, I get setting things up for future scenes... but IMO, this update was pure filler, decent story progression I guess, but also mostly filler. I would definitely have waited for the next update.

Or you could just not use Chrome and switch to a different browser. DuckDuckGo is my preferred browser on my android phone and tablet. On the PC it's either Opera or Brave with extensions that block ads, and DuckDuckGo as the preferred search engine.
