Also my first futa game. Never found futas particularly sexy - only cute. Until now, I guess.
Welcome. You join a sect of patrician taste.
- Sex scenes:
Good foreshadowing and 'foreplay'. Sex is relatively intense and at least somewhat plays off of the personalities. Oftentimes even progressing character arcs during sex scenes - which is surprisingly rare in other games.
There were NO boring sex scenes so far - even with the characters I'm not into.
Also, love the multi-POV scenes. Plays off great with NTR aspect of the game.
A while back I played through Oppai Odyssey, that game does a great job of making the sex scenes feel engaging, and I thought to myself, "How is the dev accomplishing this?" Especially the scenes with the pointy-eared chick, where you kind of fight for dominance, were great.
That got me thinking, regular scenes usually have some sort of goal to attain. There's purpose to the scene, either in terms of plot or character development. So the trick seems to be to treat sex scenes much like regular scenes. It makes the scenes feel much more like they're actually part of the game, which naturally makes them feel more engaging. That's the theory, anyway. Now I'm not always great at putting that idea into practice, but I do try.
For example:
Make girls more jealous of each other - so the NTR part not only applies to the boy, but to every girl too. The early plot-point of the Princess being jealous of her bodyguard was adorable. We need more of these - for everyone.
It'll make the emotional tension in every scene unique - just because there are more combinations of 'being jealous' if every person on the screen is being cucked in different ways.
There are just more potential unique scenes that way.
I do think there's merit in more jealousy, and higher emotional stakes in general. Gotta make it feel organic, though, which might be a challenge, since it might not feel reasonable for a given character. But definitely something for me to consider.
And second point:
Treat the boy like you treat the Princess.
In the Princess scenes she's doing something that she shouldn't - but she really wants to. Hence the contrast, tension, embarrassment, and drama.
For boy's sex scenes there's none of it.
If the boy, for example, was fucking the Dwarf-girl when the princess were distracted behind the door by Tanathil - and the boy knew she's there - it would simply be the same scene, but stronger.
Hm, yeah now that you mention it, I can totally see how having Saranhil outside the door in that scene would've worked to add tension. I'll keep that in mind for future MC scenes.
Thanks for the detailed review, and thanks for the feedback!
