I actually tried to experiment creating new folders there or duplicating the existing one as a starting point but this never worked properly: the game either blocks on a black screen or just let me load a single capture before removing all the others from the list

in version 0.41, the detail of the character and her pussy is much higher than in 0.53, and there is also no blurring. Right click on it in normal game (or left click to change the background) just for lighting.
On unity explorer untick the corresponding green flag on the left menu tree to entirely delete it
I'll chime in. I have downloaded the file you posted, and put it in the root folder of the game. Issue appears when I try to run the game, a cmd window pops up for a sec, saying its's downloading unity base libraries, and nothing happens.
I updated dotnet on my side. Have you had an issue like this?

10th, nothing yet. Unironically the thing I dislike most about waiting for an update, especially if it’s past whatever whatever deadline, is *these* threads becoming more and more toxic as time goes on. I browse these threads to find saves and fix issues I have, and having to search through multiple pages of people complaining/arguing about releases always makes that harder… I’m sure a lot of people who use this site can relate. Not making it better with this post taking up oxygen, but like, to anyone who reads this, inb4 you holler about the release be mindful about people trying to use this thread for *discussion* and not to voice complaints.

dl it and extract in the game folder, let it load than 'njoy.
bepinex is the one included in game, don't touch it

I think you're stuck with her in the tutorial because there's a plot, kind of. The tutorial is just the tutorial though, there's nothing storywise beyond that so don't worry about it.
In freemode, select the top tab in the options on the left. The top row shows the characters currently in the scene. Click one of those to select them for swapping, then clicking a character in the vertical list will swap that character onto the selected character. Or select the + icon in the top row to switch to "add character" mode.
If you don't have any characters except Primrose, the Succubus, and the Queen, you need to download and install the mods pack from the OP.
