Before anybody starts complaining about the performance loss.. (hopefully not, but realistically inevitable)..
The Nvidia fluid motion now works (latest driver or maybe latest NvApp) and can be activated via NvidiaApp giving a +90% fps but deactivating the ingame VSync (why?) so you'll have to limit the framecount manually to spare some GPU.

For some reason it only works in Nvidia App, provided you make all the little steps you should know by heart (dlls swap..preset etc..), and not Nv Profile Inspector, or it's just me...

Should work on any RTX

Good for those who still don't know or are bothered to use L.S.

If anyone is wondering: the "fluid motion" mentioned in this post is called "Smooth Motion" in the English app. That said, I really don't recommend using it. The trade-off for seeing higher fps numbers is far too big. You should only consider it if:
  • You have vision issues (and can't see details a healthy eye normally would), OR
  • You genuinely don't mind your screen looking smeared.
Otherwise, there's no real reason to use this feature from Nvidia. It's essentially useless when Lossless Scaling exists. Lossless Scaling provides noticeably better image quality and lower input lag as long as you don't push the frame generation multiplier too high. For most cases, x2 is the sweet spot.

0.57 is extremely broken for me, constant crashes
completely unplayable
regardless of what map i'm on or with what characters

i expected it to be bad as it's a test version, but not this much

I said "don't forget the umbrella" and here comes the rain...

- characters are glitching like if the skeleton was misalligned (or the idle movement conflict with something), no matter the pose.
- It makes the GPU go crazy unstable and wacks the counters.
- New lighting is.. Meh.. needs at least an ambient light and contrast control to avoid the Black/White outcome.
- Too plastic/greish look (easily solvable via RTX or reshade shaders) so not needed the begin with. [ if it worked like the learning curve I had for making vids I'd say they are at step 3/20, hopefully it won't be the case]
- New "saliva effect" (assuming)... just delete it.
- Paintjob in realtime... even more confusing? Common sense would dictate a chara customization screen with save option.
- New "porous skin" is noticeable only in extreme closeups, Normalmaps still need work.
- Good to have new maps, but without actual raytracing they look pretty flat (....and the dry hotspring...).
- changing the background doesn't change the lighting, so it's not an active raycast skydome (maybe adding a custom one will do the trick).

The rest is the same, FSR sucks, UI is what it is.. New chars are ok
Overall: 2/10 barely playable alpha

Tomorrow I'll try to port the new chars and maps to the old ver.

Hello everyone,
True Facials v0.57 is on the way! Since this is a major update, we decided to release a Technical Test version. If you encounter issues, please report them in our Discord's channel.

Important Note: Because of the new features, we have changed the hotkey buttons:
  • Hold [ `] Tilde Button for Tooltips, previous [Alt].
  • Hold [Shift] Button to move multiple characters, previous [Ctrl].
  • [Esc] Button to open/close the Menu, previous [ `].
I. Characters:
As with prior Technical Test versions, the roster is kept smaller to help us focus more on new features. Everyone will be available in the full release.

II. New Maps:
  • Japanese Hot Springs Bathroom

The maps assets are still under development. Visual bugs and unstable performance are expected.

III. New Lighting System & Customizable Skyboxes.
  • The rendering system has been completely overhauled, allowing for much more physically accurate lighting than before.

  • As such, you can add your own skybox, which will alter the lighting of your scene! Simply put them as PNG into "TrueFacials\Mods\Skyboxes" and click RMB on the sky to cycle!


IV. Material Control:
  • You can freely customize the look of any individual part of a character! Including their skin, hair and outfits.

  • While holding Alt:
    • Drag LMB on a part to change its color.
    • Drag RMB to change its material properties (metallic, smoothness/wetness).
    • Click RMB to change presets or reset to base.
    • Click LMB to copy the last change to the current part.
V. Body Canvas [Experimental - Pro Version]
  • Make you own piece of body art with dynamic paint and water!
  • Paint will stick and flow on any part of a character, water will clear the paint as they flow and make the surface wet.
  • While holding Ctrl:
    • Drag LMB on characters to paint.
    • Drag RMB to wash paint with water.
    • Scroll up/down to change the paint preset.
  • Hotkey B is used to clear all paint and fluids.
VI. Other Improvements (incomplete):
  • Multithreaded animation system, much better performance for higher number of characters.
  • Many enhancement for the skin, including pubic hair, skin pores and better blending.
  • More posing capabilities, hands can now grab arms (though not both hands on both arms at the same time).
  • More will be detailed in the full release.
VII. Known Issues:
  • The game starts with setting Anti Aliasing: TAA, please change to FSR3.
  • GPU performance might be more intensive.
  • An issue where characters could sometimes fall through the ground.
  • Some body parts and outfits cannot be painted on. In some cases, painted textures may appear pixelated.
  • Loading very large PNG files for sky-maps (over 16k res) may cause the game to crash.

IV. Devlog:
This is quite awkward. As you know, we were supposed to release v0.57 with the multithreaded animation system. However, I started some rendering tests after that and fell right into a rabbit hole.
In fact, it is THE rabbit where every devs falls into, and they're lucky to get out with a wrong answer. Because there is no right answer if you need dynamic lighting, quality and performance.
While we might not have found the mythical perfect solution, we have found one that provide the look and capabilities that TF needs. The new rendering system is what allowed us to work on Body Canvas and Material Control, which is what we (and possibly you) have wanted for a long time.
More good news, we have a 4th team member (and the second programmer)! He had actually worked a lot on the new features and is proving to be vital to our future development. There is much more that we want to do with TF, and now we're more geared for it!

Changelog for anyone curious. They're about a month late with this version lol but yeah, I'd wait for the fixed version if I were you unless you're on a 4070TI or up.

Henry either dislikes or struggles with creating a good UI, maybe it's a bit of both. He seems willing to do anything, and I truly mean anything (including using every possible key on the keyboard and all their combinations) to avoid building a clean, user-friendly interface. Who's going to tell him that no one, absolutely no one remembers what CTRL or ALT combined with LEFT or RIGHT CLICK does anymore?

It's high time he either hires a competent UI designer or learns to create one himself. The current system still expects us to scroll through single-row lists just to find the scene we're looking for among hundreds of entries. Even worse, there's no way to sort the list (in the year 2025…), and selecting a scene resets the list back to the top. So if you accidentally pick the wrong scene, good luck scrolling back down again. Every time you do this, your mouse wheel suffers, not to mention your hand.

But clearly, none of this matters, certainly not to Henry or his yes-men on Discord.

I had to delete the Blowjob_69.lua and Blowjob_69.png in the Captures folder to get mine to work for some reason
In my case, it didn't work. It seems that the failure is somewhat more serious than in any scene, since the scenes do not start at all. The screenshot of the character selection menu shows that none of the characters are present at the start.
