Bang5Bang why the facepalm? There are 171 million VR headsets out there. The VR gaming industry has earned $1 billion last year, while the general gaming industry has earned almost 400. This means the desktop/console gaming industry is almost 400 times larger than the VR gaming industry.

Do the math.

For individuals like "SinArcade" it's most likely not about the money but about the game/experience. VR can be way more immersive, that's not to say you can't enjoy it on a flat screen. VR is just something in of itself and it's way easier to make it work for one platform first than to start working on multiple.

VR and non-VR, the difference if you use the right tools (goes for both Unity and Unreal) is: none, or almost none. The VR framework will support VR, the regular development tool will support desktop. If you use the right framework you don't really need to think about what people play with. Some developers have discovered this and also realized they throw dollars on the ground by not supporting desktop mode (at least as the first choice). Some of the better projects only began adding VR support after their base stuff was working okay.

It's really not that simple, it's basically all manual work. You can have all the tools you want but in the end it's your game that has to support it in it's own way. Most games that have both flat screen and VR as an option has one or both of them not working very well. And again for individuals, and not publicly traded companies or even privately owned like Valve it's not about the money. It's about the game.

VR required? When I try to open it, it' just a black screen with hourglass cursor.

I have Windows MIxed Reality Headset, I can't seem to control anything? Anyone have trouble with controls? I can only teleport and grab camera, can't interact with model or anything
