We will know more about BaiBai situation once November comes and weather this game will continue or not. I really want this game to succeed as a sub for BaiBai but there seems to be a lot of things going on with the dev right now.

Where does it say that there will be news for this Sunday? You're like many of us: frustrated. Frustrated at not having the latest version, frustrated that despite the obvious quality of the game, Baibai doesn't have many paying subscribers. You know very well that in the world of VN and developers, the word soon has no exact indicative value.

Like I said, in my opinion the intent of this message was obvious and unambiguous. Baibai succeeded in being barely vague enough to get people to give him benefit of the doubt he frankly doesn't deserve. Fact is, this was the last Sunday before his November 1st deadline and he is going to miss it without a word.
If I am wrong I will take it on the chin, but I don't think I am for a second. Baibai does not deserve the benefit of the doubt that nice people like you give him.
You're being obsessive. He made no promise to post an update. Just that he might make one at some point in the future.
The subscribestar is paused and even when it wasn't it wasn't making anywhere near enough money to make a living. This game is a thing he is doing in his free time. He has no obligation to continue.
I get being impatient and looking forward towards the update, but your sense of entitlement in insane. You're making up promises on the devs behalf so you can get mad at it getting broken. I thought I had seen it all in terms of entitlement on this forum, but this truly takes the cake.

I don't see why you felt the need to insult me, but whatever. I payed for a product, I expect the product. I see months of shitty excuses, I grow tired of them. Isn't very complicated. I supported Baibai for 4 months and I do feel I deserve the update that is apparently 95% complete after that. I also don't feel my support should be contingent on the support of others, if that was the case then the update should have been a stretch reward.
Call me entitled if you want, or wrong, or obsessive. It is your right. But I don't think any of that is unreasonable.

I'm seriously hoping things are going well for Baibai and he comes back to the table rested and ready. I really want this game to get finished, but if not, at least let us have a Jacky scene before abandonment

There is no difference in being a supporter from day one or supporting for a single month, your feelings of what you deserve are just that.... your feelings about what you think you deserve. What if you subbed a month later and had only been 3 months at this point instead of 4 would you not be posting? SS is obviously not catering to you or any other single user?? I dont even know how to reply to that idea its so utterly wrong.
Expecting vindication really just paints you as someone who truly does think the world revolves around them: "ofc its time to say dead milker scam game ive paid for an arbitrary amount of time!, ofc a platform to support artists is the exact same as amazon!, ofc people will agree with me!, ofc these people who are wrong to disagree with me just need to be convinced!"

and fwiw i like the game obviously, but if baibai paused dev of the game (inclduing payments LIKE HE HAS) until november 2025 it wont be the end of the world

I'd be nice to know what's the holdup and I know we aren't owed that but it would help alleviate some of the confusion on if the game will continue or not.

That's not what I asked, he was so close to being finished and now he places it on hold for two months? Yea sure maybe he's still working on it but every month that goes by with little to no further info is a cause for concern.
I think they meant the actual, personal reason why BaiBai is taking a break.
I think it was strategically done because the hype for the game was high since it was about to be released. He probably thought it was better to hold on to that hype for two months than to release the game now, take his break, but have the next release later by two months.
He said vacation.To me that means he won't work on the game until he gets back on Nov. 1st. So I really doubt we will see an update on the 1st. I hope I am wrong

I think it's unfair to think the dev purposefully delayed this release. Why is it so hard for people to give him the benefit of the doubt? It's not impossible he did have things to do in his life that took time away from the game and he just needs to handle that before continuing his porn game side quest

Because if you give me the time I will rattle off the names of about 100 devs on the site who have rugpulled and ghosted their supporters in an actively manipulative fashion.
By contrast there are like 10 I can name who went the distance and didn't scam people. It is naive and against your own interests to give BaiBai the benefit of the doubt.

It's not BaiBai's fault that others are scammy. Should you be presumed guilty if you're charged for murder just because murderers have existed in the past?

Most of what I wrote in the last dev update still holds. The game will definitely continue, but whether you believe me when I say that is on you (the nice thing is that nobody has to believe me anything, as it will continue either way).
I'll post another short update on sstar on Halloween, but it won't be anything to write home about. Mostly just a life signal with a tiny sprinkle of hope for the next month.
I'm really not sure whether trying to hold on to hype is a good strategy in general but even if, it sure as hell wouldn't be worth losing out on multiple months of subscription payments and pissing off a decent chunk of the audience.
