What is there to defend? The guy has issues irl and he already talked about it, it's not like he's hiding it. And I already said I like the game and if it comes back it's great but if it's abandoned then bad luck, people should already be used to this happening with these types of games. It's not a "job" that makes a lot of money for most devs and not even one with a stable salary. And reading dozens of people complaining about something they don't even pay for, must make the experience even more exhausting.

What's the alternative? them accepting payment while they arent working?
Patreon is not a job. It just allows people to support creators monetarily so they have an incentive to work on a project instead of procrastinating or even having to find a job. I wouldn't support a creator while he isn't working on the project, but some would and that would encourage him to not move on with his life.

i really don't get why people here are angry, like he can have issues in his life, he literally paused payments until he updates the game, like wtf do you expect him to do? its not like he is taking the money while he pauses
Not sure how they are "playing" with you by being self-aware and honest about their history of missing predicted release timelines. Seems to me it is the complete opposite - letting fans know the game is still in active development but at the same time encouraging them to be realistic and not "expect" projected time frames to be religiously adhered to.
Weren't you the one who was crashing out when BaiBabi didn't want to release an unfinished product and had to be talked to about how your life shouldn't revolve around porn games? Stop the seething, it ain't good for your soul.

Good point. But for a lot of creators it is effectively their job, even if its labeled differently. Also, I dont really think BaiBai has given any indication that he is moving on with his life
I certainly understand your perspective, but I feel like if a dev cant deliver on what people are supporting them for, then they should pause payments. Just my two cents, we can agree to disagree of course.
Also, and of much greater importance, consider how annoying the thread would get with the milking/scamming comments if he didn't pause the payments

yes all the time crying underneath every post on SS. Like he was emotionally invested in the game etc....
