Well at least Bai Bai is being honest about requesting that fans of his game lower their expectations
(specially in regards to the frequency & render-count-per-month rate).

Sad part (as a fan that has also chipped in around $30 to the game in the past)
1. creator wasn't able (for whatever reasons) to sustain early high-output rate.
2. we will have to wait at least 4-5 years to see reasonable conclusions to story-arcs.

Ok part
1. Creator seems committed to continuing working on the project (even if it takes a decade to finish).

Good part

That's ok, he's talking and acknowledging stuff, I'm happy waiting as long as it takes beacuse I really enjoy TM, hope he gets someone to help, try different methods to speed up the procces or scale down the size of the updates in pro of consistency, the people donanting have the last word in that regard of course so we just have to wait. Whether is on halloween or in my birthday month I think it's worth waiting, not like theres a bunch of updates coming soon like that one with my favorite muscle red-head and cute goth girl.

I'm not paying anything, bet most of us here aren't, milking my attention or time? not really since I have other stuff to do so unless you have every response from the paying donnors or something then it means nothing, the same my comment does, since we both use the same energy to express our opinion. Maybe try to use that energy on other more constructive ways.

Told what? The dev since beginning said this update would take longer, and he himself admits he's taking even more time than he should. This isn't a case of "update will be in April" but ends being released in October, no, the dev didn't give a ETA (if I recall correctly).

I'm not even a patron of this dev, but I don't think it's fair at all to come with those drawings trying to act cool. And trust me, I'm pretty vocal when a dev is straightforward milking his patreons, but imo I don't agree on this one, at least yet.

Yes it's true that unfortunely this industry unfortunely has a reputation of milking by several devs, but BaiBai said since last update that those would take longer. As much as it sucks the update is taking longer, he was upfront with it and didn't give false promises.

Lets face it, you probably wouldn't ever support any game or dev at all, the usual ones who laugh like you are the ones that are always expecting stuff for free while chilling on the sofa.

Yes people have reasons to discuss the unusual delay of this update, and people SHOULD talk about it, I'm also disapointed with how long it is taking, but with all due respect, that kind of post is just dumb, sorry. Not to mention that there are much worse devs on these forums with their false promises.

It's a familiar pattern: constant updates at the beginning, then a slowdown once a decent income is established. The fact he's telling it will take more time doesn't mean he's being honest. Whether he says it or not, it was already obvious that updates were taking longer and longer., but that's a classic sign that the project is headed for development hell. Anyone who believes otherwise is naive. He's needs to hire more people.

This is a pattern I've seen with every developer who hits development hell: they start over-communicating and promising they'll give it their all, or mention that it will take longer than expected. Where I'm from, this is a normal part of life. It's like a mechanic who promises your car will be done in three days but then keeps it for two weeks, full of excuses. This is no different. He's just milking the project for all it's worth. If he were serious, he would’ve already hired an extra helping hand. By the way, where is he from?

Exactly. A milking Dev is different. They tend to promise how good and massive the Updates will be and that they are very close to finishing. And if you reach the first Deadline, they are like "Yeah, it just takes a little while, two more weeks" and then it is one more week and then suddenly you only get half of the Update, because it is so big and good that it needs to be split in half so that they can provide any new content.

BaiBai is very open about it and communicated from the start that it will take longer. I would also be happy if it would be faster, but accusing him of milking is pretty wrong. I could probably list half a dozen Devs who are actually milking and then people would see the difference.

He is not talking about the total number of renders per update, but about the speed - renders per month. In essence, he said that he managed to render about twice as slowly as usual. But still, the number of renders is higher than usual. That's all.
