A remake is certainly an... idea. My personal take on it is this:

If the dev is doing this in order to secure his place on itch.io, steam, or whatever, I honestly am quite sympathetic towards him. I'm never gonna judge a dev trying to secure their bag, (in a non-scam way), and I can certainly understand why he would make such a decision. The dev simply takes priority over his game, I'm not gonna ask him to keep making something that doesn't earn him the money it deserves. Now with that in mind, no, I honestly don't want him to make a remake. Remakes kill the momentum of a game and the removal of content just sucks even when its for good reason.

I mean really, idk how you remove the incest portions and blackmail without a complete and total toppling of the current narrative. You might as well start calling them roommates and landlady and get it over with.

Expect by looking at the latest update to find new games, I tried games by its score or view that I may be interested(until I tried most of them), so yeah I think it will mostly be affected to attract new players if there are high score changes.

Bro, your presentation of dev's perspective is so inauthentic, the guy is just trying to figure out how to still keep the fanbase while defending it from getting banned, its not only the game that we all love but its also his income, Do you really think he wants to get through this remake? that he doesnt want to keep things as they are and stick to his original passion project?

No, he absolutely does, as we all, but the reality is this project can collapse in a flash if the sub page gets shut down, and it can happen at any second, I hope he finds a way of keeping the foundational aspects of the story as they are and integrate it under censorship, there are devs that do that today...successfully, but if not at least he can keep it going and save the development process from crashing down upon its face.

Actually most devs with even a little foresight are making plans on how to proceed forward should shit hit the fan, still not all of them are considering reworks that's for sure.

Ok... tomorrow we may have an answer to what Baibai's plan is, but I feel like I have to say this. The guys thinking that the changes would just be the models or the relationships are very wrong, so let me write all that would have to change if Baibai wanted to make a SFW version:

And so much more that I can't think of right now. The story a lot of people came to love and have been waiting for would be almost completely remade. All of this while the situation keeps changing and people are actually harassing the payment processors, protesting, and finding ways to keep things like they were. Panicking and doing all of the above while we don't know yet how all will turn out will most likely cause a lot of people to leave.

"The whole PLOT revolves around them being actual family" ehrm, BEEEEEP, wrong. The plot revolves around the MC fixing his mistakes in a perverted way in order to not end like he ended up in his previous life. Plot works as much if it's about some frustrated milf who still sees MC like a lil kid and two bratty step sisters lol, the incest is what you actually focus on because of personal preference. The game is classic isekai/corruption/cheating and incest is one among other dark themes. Sure the taboo fuels the gooning but that's about it, the novel works perfectly fine without it

And nah you don't need to do a whole ass remake, yes changing the dialogue is enough lol, you're simply making it a bigger problem because you don't entertain the idea.

And you can keep most of the taboo aspect by making them step-sisters.

Of course. Games under 3 stars are real trash. Games above 3 stars are not all good but it's the bare minimum to be worth playing. And then it's a lot on personal preferences.

In that comment, I'm specifically referring to him saying he didn't expect the reaction to be so negative, lol. It's obvious it would be somewhat negative, haha. I understand it's his income, but are you sure that income won't go down if he changes many aspects of the game? I say it's best to put the game on hold until we see what happens.

I'm assuming this dude has all the scenes saved in honey select so in most scenes he can swap old "young" characters with "older" model (some scenes would need to change poses slightly but that's about it). If he actually doesn't have the scenes then mentioning a remake is ridiculous lol there's no way he's finishing it.

Like I said in my post more than just height needs to be changed (the fact they wear uniforms and all go to classes at the same time would both need to be changed so not just sex scenes but any scene at school/headed to school/headed from school) as well as everything with the "drug" so tons of character scenes need to be rewritten.

No school (all but 2 or 3 characters)
No dubious consent (reworked (logic) scenes with sis friend/for leo/everything with money plot)
No blackmail (no older sis corruption route, no Catherine corruption)
No "taboo" (the entire narrative needs to be rewritten, and wont be able to fall on "taboo" for quality only relying on writing)
No chance as a "vanilla game" seriously why play a vanilla honey select (or 2) game that is reworking for months/ better part of a year, is more or less purely slice of life, and would be competing with popular (more interesting) vanilla games? Seriously why play this over eternum if twisted memoires goes vanilla? In fact eternum jokingly admits to having a striaght up rape scene, and a character who has 3/4 scenes that they point out are dubious consent
BaiBai translation is just as long or longer than every other step and he would need to go over the entire 10 chapters, making 100% every single reference above (and likely more) is changed/altered, which considering the amount of grammatical/spelling errors would mean he would want someone to check it because spelling can be forgiven (even by the censors) but a single reference to anything listed would make the rework pointless as the "censors" could just say "still has 1 line about 18 year olds right before uni" and have "grounds" to ban it/make baibai lose his income

Because they absolutely will continue to attempt to censor to their ideals, which as far as BaiBai is concerned means the game needs to be reexamined/reworked as is demonstrated by his very quick and volatile response to this attempt at censoring

The thing is "headwinds" dont matter in this case. Others have posted that there has been little if any movement outside of the initial itch stuff (some saying its slowly being reversed) and we are still talking about doing a full rework

We are disagreeing about how BaiBai will react I think.

We both think that this latest round of censorship will largely fail.

However I dont think it matters because just the idea of them going after adult games was able to make BaiBai rethink his entire work, what is too stop baibai from reacting that way the next time an adult game (that isnt his) gets some notoriety?
