Considering how long the dev takes just to update the game once every few months, I'm leaning towards never ever. Replacing the MC would take months upon months of work especially in animations. All of them would have to be thrown out and remade. It's just not even remotely feasible on top of basically alienating his current fans at the same time.

That's not even beginning to lean into rewrites.

Weekly development update
Alright, its been a little bit of a slower week. I kind of got side tracked by something else and pretty much had to force myself to sit down to work on the game but I managed to get most of one of the last 3 big scenes done which isn't too bad but I wouldn't call it great either.

Anyway, next week is showcase week so I'll post the promised last teasers then. I also definitely won't get done the translating until then but I should get very close to it as it really is just 2 more big scenes and some small stuff here and there.

I always find it odd when people all start using a common word like "interlocutor" in comment threads. It's like a movement of language back and forth.

Some devs won't be English speakers or accomplished dialogue writers, as that's a skill in itself.

Yeah native English speaker here. Only the most insufferable of pretentious asshats use words like that in conversation over here. Most born and bred English speakers wouldn't even know what those words mean.

Doesn't change the truth though. Most people don't speak or use those words in day to day conversation. It is what it is. I'm not sure why that bothers you enough go off on me about it though.
The educational system has failed the last couple generations so you shouldn't be too surprised to find all this out.
EDIT: I'd wager a lot of the ESL people on here won't know their meaning either so using them IS kinda pretentious.

It's not uncommon in written articles sure but day to day speech with the common man? I can count how many times I've heard it.
