To be fair I think the usual for him to release one devlog per month. Some devs do weekly others do monthly, I think both are fine. The problem here is the lack of actual content releases.

This was my first experience with this dickgirl game, and I loved it. I liked it so much that I went on to find and play a bunch of other dickgirl games but they started from scratch and the update is coming very slowly, still worth the wait.

Quick devlog

Just wanted to let you guys know that I am very close to end the development of the update V0.1.9 or better known as the end for the Prologue episode❤ at the moment I am doing a ton of optimization, cleaning unnecessary codes or renders, placing replays and compressing the game as much as possible, I am crunching hard these last few days to bring it as soon as possible, please be patient with me

New Stuff added:
  • Notifications on the minimap that shows what character are there.
  • The exploration of the 24 maps of the hospital
  • added a fame/karma/reputation system

FIXES
  • The 24 maps that are on the hospital are now completly explorable
  • Fixed and organize a ton of coding stuff...
  • All the buttons/interactions on all the hospital map works correctly
  • Now you can talk and spend time with any character around the hospital map
  • edited conversation backgrounds
  • Edited the gamble minigame with the women on the hospital
  • Edited Pussycats gang presentation event
  • Edited multiple Jazmin and Jaiden Sexual events
  • reorganize all 13k+ character sprites
  • deleted all the unnecessary renders/layers
  • Ton of compression and optimization stuff
  • Fixed emotion system, now depending of the level of friendship some character can get mad or happy when talking to you, to lower or rise it, you must spend time or do stuff that character likes, like for example doing sexual kinks those characters like (Still testing this)
  • Edited MC hospital end
  • Edited Teufel prologue ending
  • Edited Sky prologue ending
  • edited Norrie prologue ending
  • Removed a ton of unnecessary variables and layered images and replace them with a more shorter process

I am missing a ton more stuff that my melted brain cant process at the moment... I have been burning myself this last few weeks to bring it as soon as possible, at the moment what it needs it is a ton of optimization stuff and organize the code perfectly so I don't get in trouble on future updates.

Also If you are messaging me at the moment and I haven't answer you yet, it is because I have all my social media muted so I could focus 100% on the game until the release, just to let you know, I will answer them all once the update gets completed and delivered to the public

Also Christmas is near❤ and also TW anniversary (New years eve) Santa will help me out, I have hope

takes a year and a half to make half a prologue takes a year to fix what HE DID in a previous version, how is he this shit at renpy still :LUL:

Actually, based on what he wrote here and depending on the implementation, he did a lot of work to iron out some issue I identified with the second prologue release, and implemented quite a few systems that could have taken a while to script/code-especially if they are truly responsive/dynamic and tie into other variables in a meaningful way. IF--and this is a big IF--he established templates that can be reutilized for future parts of the game, and he is as focused as implied in this post, then he could have done a lot of work to set up for much faster future releases due to having a strong script/code base to work from.

Snats has oversold some things in the past, but based on some of the previews over the last three years, he's been working on some ambitious systems that I frankly wasn't sure if he had the chops to implement. If he succeeded, then he deserves a ton of credit for increasing his skills in Ren'Py, especially if he did so without hiring a professional scripter, even more so if he learned actual Python code and not just Ren'Py scripting.

Something I really zeroed in on is the layered images. He experimented with layers and masking, and frankly I feel those tend to fall flat and remove a lot of the immersion and depth that you want from a visual novel. Masking is fine if done correctly (however, he did run into minor alignment issues that I've pointed out in the past), but layered sprites tend to create dissonance between the characters and their environment, especially if you don't work to maintain the proper depth, lighting, and perspectives relative to the characters' surroundings. He stepped away from that for the last release; I think to positive effect. If he was able to completely remove layering and still end up with a fast, efficient, scene framing and rendering process, then that would be great for the future visual fidelity of the game.

Looking forward to the release, and if it's as good as it has the potential to be, I might consider supporting him for the first time ever, as it proves that he's not only working hard, but working smart on the game in a way that he hasn't since even the old version.

Unlike you, I actually look at the game files and give real critique based on that. I've never "throated his shaft", but unlike you I'm not here rolling in feces like a fucking troglodyte. He's clearly improved if you look at the scripting from the first version of the game up until now, and if the next release actually has what's implemented in the devlog, and it's done in an efficient manner, then that will represent a massive increase in skill on Snats' end. He has me blocked on Discord, and I've never even typed a word there, so you can take your head and shove it all the way back up your ass where it belongs.
