So for my two cents... I played the classic version a few months back, and enjoyed the heck out of it. I thought the character designs were hot af. Towards the end of that version I noticed some rough parts, and it seemed that it was due to the increased scope of the game.
Which then to me, makes sense why Snats would re-do the game in a way that could handle the increased scope. But when starting the new version, Snats probably even thought up of more content now that it has been created with more solid code from the ground up and can handle it.
This seems to be a common issue with a lot of these 3d porn games as the developer keeps adding and adding without ever finishing their initial ideas. I honestly don't see this as a scam, just an unfortunate by-product of a creator's ambition.
I've been loosely paying attention to this game since around 0.3 of the original. From my understanding, Snats always had big ambitions and knew the scope of the game. I vaguely remember one of the big "selling points" about the game was the ridiculous amount of "planned" characters Snats already had back then.
If they already had a good idea about how large the scope was, then it isn't an "unfortunate by-product", but simply incompetence, bad planning and poor decision making. We can assume as such by the fact Snats experimented by creating a VN version simply because they had no idea what they wanted to do.
But, that in itself isn't the problem here. There are people who are mad the game was remade at all, but the bigger problem is the state of the first release and empty promises. The primary argument is that after the first release, Snats made a claim that 0.2 was close to finished. It's been several months since then with very little contact.
And when all 10 previews are done he will release 0.2 and we will have seen 80% of the content in all his preview posts
