you have to click on those arrows/lines between two "perks," then hit "learn," and that perk should be unlocked.
the same goes for other ones.

Didn't work for me.

Sure does. finished the game and have nothing unlocked in the gallery.
Unresponsive convo options have no hints and there is no indication which starts are useful where.
Some girls are just totally cut off from any interactions without the slightest hint as to why or what to change.

Plenty of branching/alternative scenes, so if you don't want to play multiple times you can wait for WT mod

You need to level up the "arrows" that are connected to the skills first.

Game be good looking and nice plot relegations to interesting characters, but MC is all over the place and
still no place with anyone and in anything, really.

The new points system makes the paths a great deal obfuscated and sometimes nonsensical,
because more often than not, mandatory story cutscenes make stats useless.
