The goal of most games around here is meeting new and interesting people in strange situations and having a blast while doing it.
The story of MC meeting the people who dwell on this island where U4ria runs through everything and everyone is intriguing.

Isn't it possible for everyone to complete tasks in a sandbox? This is a pseudo sandbox where you can only choose the girl you like. What's the point of a sandbox? Sorry, I'm a Chinese boy

not all tasks since some are tied to specific choice early game. idea of sandbox is to add free roam.

Dev Diary, September 27th, 2024

Around 4k lines of script/dialogue were done, along with adding some renders here and there, which so far is just about the same as I wrote in last week's update (yes, I briefly considered copying/pasting that one :p).
But that's about it for similarities.
In this episode there is a hidden 'mood' variable for every person, which goes up and down depending on what happens, and your actions. So I thought, 'why not make it visible instead?' - and here we are.

Spent a day or so making all the ui elements and the script that shows and changes the mood accordingly. The initial girls' mood depends on your actions earlier in the game, and will continue to be a part of how the girls behave throughout the game.

A little bit of curiosity when it comes to Sea, is that whenever she says something that she instantly wants to take back, or someone misunderstands her, she'll break the 4th wall and look right at the camera.

This is something that dates way back to when she was introduced in Leap of Faith, and I kept it for U4iA. 4th wall 'looking at camera' moments are often associated with blooper reels and are a nice way to emphasize the Sea's quirky nature. Except for poor Sea, she doesn't get to do another take. :)

It's not what Drifty has to say in the dev log, nor the visual representation of the mood indicator that piques my interest... it's the fact the preview render shows that characters stuck on an Island in the middle of nowhere are inside a passenger aircraft...

A little frustrated, I was going for a Synne run but after massaging her legs on the beach the "Stay here with synne" option is grayed out. Walkthrough mod doesn't seem to give any hints, what did I miss? Is this not doing something with her, or doing something with another girl? View attachment 3409761
Did you ever get a complete answer to this? If so.... what was it?

synne needs to be mc's sugar mama aka she buys him a phone and hires him to hotel and mc giving her backmassage on her office.

Dev Diary, October 4th, 2024

To start with the positives, I finished a scene that is a bit different visually than static images alone. I wanted the scene to feel more alive and thus had to make a moving background. It turned out to be easier than I had suspected, but took a bit of time making the visuals.

I also experimented with some of the new features of the latest version of Renpy, which will be very useful going forward.
In the comments last week, someone mentioned wanting to hide the new 'mood-meter, ' so I added a choice to hide it in the preferences section. I also did this for other 'help' screens in the game.
On the negative side, I had plenty of distractions this week. As I've mentioned before, I'm making a new road up to the house, which has been going on for nine weeks now. But since it's nearing completion, I've had a lot of meetings with the Entrepreneurs to decide on the finishing touches.

In addition to this, one of my exes had a kidney failure, which almost ended very badly. And since she's also the mother of my children, it took a bit of attention. Lastly, my son had a birthday, which soaked up a day too.
But I'll put in some extra hours next week and hopefully catch up to where I wanted to be progress-wise.
Not much else to add for now. But as always, have a lovely weekend, stay safe out there, and once again, thank you very much for the support !
