I've mostly been working on the free-roam this week. 192 story-renders 1,380 animation frames were done. This is the only free-roam of the episode, and it's gotten quite lengthy now, due to the amount of content in there. In fact, it's almost a game in its own now, with several paths and endings.
I wanted to tie the endings to a single event, to ease the workflow somewhat, and came up with this.
This is an early mock-up of the room where Sam is doing her show. As you can see, there are three cubicles with access to watch. The glasses are tinted differently for a reason.
This way, I can set up scenes for the different cubicles while Sam is performing on the center stage. One version is you watching her alone, waiting for her to finish and join you. Another is watching with another girl, putting on a show for Sam while she's performing, much to her pleasure. A third is spending time with a completely different girl, paying little interest to what's happening on stage.
Or you can end up in the middle cubicle with no interest in any of the girls present and leave early for a bonus ending to the free-roam.
The not-so-glorious outside view of the model looks like this.
That way, I don't need a huge environment that will slow down animation rendering, and can easily detach each cubicle to speed up the process even more.
I still have about a week's worth of story renders to do before I can start the animations, but I'm looking forward to it.
More info next week.
Have a lovely weekend and stay safe out there.
